Any Civilization Gamers here?
Just curious if any of you are Civ gamers here.

I've played Gal Civ, but of course it's not the same.

Civ V /w Call to power mod shows progress imo.

I kinda like 5. I'm not a fan of how simple it is, but I like it overall more than the predicessors.

Anyone know how to make it NOT bug out in multiplayer?

I've done the Civs, but real-time is much more fun, IMO. I like the Empire Earth series, especially The Art of Conquest. Nuking the world into oblivion at the end is always a good time.

I liked the CTPs, but mostly the first one. I like when you can create your own scenarios with the editor.

The game is simple on the surface. But if you dig into the game, everything can be micro managed.

I have Civ2-Civ5.

I was just playing Revival 2, a Civ type game for Android. $.99, not that bad.

Beaten the game 3 of the 5 objectives. I'm not really good at sucking up to the city states tho so I always lose the united nations vote =(

Total War has some excellent graphics and pieces of soundtrack. The close-ups on the battlefield may be some times something really compelling, very pictorial or cinematic... The medieval stuff is pretty cool...

I had the original Revival for a day and deleted it, Revival 2 looks promising though.

Re: Any Civilization Gamers here?
I'm a bit of a gamer myself, but I've never 'gotten' the Civ game. I must be the only one. I love board games and I love turn based games, but seems so short lived in terms of how many moves you can go. Before you know it its game over, and I'm like waaaat? I'm sure I just don't understand the complexity involved. But there's just so many other games to get my quick fix, not the least of which lately is Zelda or Uncharted :)

Same here! I Finally got my beta invite early today. Hate to get my hopes up too high, but Bioware has made some great games over the years.

Civ games are EPIC and can last DAYS depending on how you set it up. It's turn based so it might be something you'd like. Civ V was a let down, but there are Mods out there that are really good and actually make the game worth playing.

The funny thing with Sid Meier's games is that at first sight they look very simple stuff, even childish and a bit boring toys, but after a while they're really addictive damn stuff!

Somebody here has played "Gettysburg" (the old version) and /or "Alpha Centauri"?????????

Alpha Centauri was a great game at the time, a bit ahead of it's time hf

I had forgotten all about Gettysburg until you mentioned it lol. I miss the great games Sid and his staffed created.
