Civ V /w Call to power mod shows progress imo. "For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Inerrancia User ID: 1532114 Spain 11/10/2011 07:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've done the Civs, but real-time is much more fun, IMO. I like the Empire Earth series, especially The Art of Conquest. Nuking the world into oblivion at the end is always a good time. Quoting: Aparadoxforyou Lol, I was hooked on that! Much better & funny than Age of Empires... And you're right, the nukes are glorious (in the game, of course)... |

I'm not really good at sucking up to the city states tho so I always lose the united nations vote =( fun game! I play online so now I'm just an achievement junkie. |
Inerrancia User ID: 1532114 Spain 11/10/2011 09:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've tried the Rome Total War. Talk about micro management. My cities always rioted. I gave it up. Quoting: Aparadoxforyou Total War has some excellent graphics and pieces of soundtrack. The close-ups on the battlefield may be some times something really compelling, very pictorial or cinematic... The medieval stuff is pretty cool... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1004735 France 11/12/2011 05:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a bit of a gamer myself, but I've never 'gotten' the Civ game. I must be the only one. I love board games and I love turn based games, but seems so short lived in terms of how many moves you can go. Before you know it its game over, and I'm like waaaat? I'm sure I just don't understand the complexity involved. But there's just so many other games to get my quick fix, not the least of which lately is Zelda or Uncharted :) |

It's turn based so it might be something you'd like. Civ V was a let down, but there are Mods out there that are really good and actually make the game worth playing. ¤ Itz A DreaM ¤ (OP) User ID: 1452841 United States 11/13/2011 02:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The funny thing with Sid Meier's games is that at first sight they look very simple stuff, even childish and a bit boring toys, but after a while they're really addictive damn stuff! Quoting: Inerrancia Somebody here has played "Gettysburg" (the old version) and /or "Alpha Centauri"????????? Alpha Centauri was a great game at the time, a bit ahead of it's time I had forgotten all about Gettysburg until you mentioned it lol. I miss the great games Sid and his staffed created.
