My youngest kid is older than you. You don't know what California was like in the 40s and 50s. Things went downhill right around the time you were born. (Not saying you had anything to do with it.) Around that time, the anti-war people were kicking their heels up (and rightly so), but when the rest of the country calmed down and started acting civilized again, folks in California didn't. They liked what they were doing and kept doing it. This is why California is a fucked up state. Oh, by the way, if it weren't for the rest of the country buying your stuff, none of your "tech and money" would be worth a hill of beans. So don't go off thinking America needs California. We wouldn't miss you if you sank into the ocean tomorrow.
