Police brace for conflict as Occupy deadline nears~

Something to watch late night Saturday.

The Columbian article has been updated. Sadly, Occupy Portland is full of peaceful protestors that will be caught if the clearing of the park turns violent. They foolishly believe that they won't be caught in crossfire. I will have no sympathy for any crying Sunday because a rioter smacked them in the face with a nailed board. They've had their warning. The Portland police have done exceptionally well in making any arrests and I hope they are able to continue to do so.

“If there are anarchists, if there are weapons, if there is an intention to engage in violence and confrontation, that obviously raises our concerns,” Portland police Lt. Robert King said. “But I know we’ll be able work through that and manage that, because we want to protect everyone there, especially the peaceful protester.”

The police have moved in to begin removal of concrete chunks that could be used as fortifications.
