For all those looking for a job that they will enjoy...
Start you own business, all the can happen is you fail. the average business owner starts 3 businesses before he is successful. The first time you fail at a business you realize there is nothing to be afraid of so you pick your self back up and try try again.

My first business with the help of my lovely wife was a cleaning company, I cleaned business offices. My overhead was nothing and insurance was 300 bucks a year for the whole company! The hours were 100% flexible and no one told me what to do long as I did what I was contracted to do. I never got a complaint once.

The only thing holding you back is your ingenuity and imagination. Do not be afraid to try! Do not be afraid to fail!

Find something you like to do and find a way to make money at it, millions have done it already. YOU SHOULD BE NEXT!

Search "top 10 business you can start cheap" or somthing close to that. Your dream job is waiting for you to find it!

Yes, It would be nice to work for myself again. The economy took a toll on my last venture, and life just kept beating me down since...

But, I would like to start again, I am not one to work for others. maybe its a problem with authority figures, i do not know...It does get pretty stressful having everything on your shoulders though. I don't miss that part. really don't think I would be in any position to deal with all that right now anyway.

But soon...any way, I like to fish , or do something that has me out on the water most days. -any ideas for a business related to something around that? it must also have relatively inexpensive start up costs, times have been very tough in these parts for the past few years...peace

Re: For all those looking for a job that they will enjoy...
I'm a specialist Recruitment Consultant.

I find Safety and Environmental professionals for oil, gas, energy and power companies world wide.

I make my company about 1/2 £million a year, which is very good in recruitment a overheads are low so they get a goos bit of profit from me.

However, I'm going it alone this next year, I am half way throught converting my garage into an office and I'm going to moonlight for 6 months to raise the £20k to go it alone full time.

Why the fuck should I make some bloke £0.5m for basically just giving me a computer and phone to use at work.

I worked out the yearly overheads for it and realised, its not that much at all.

Wish me luck.

I live on the great lakes, grew up on a boat on put-in-bay so I hear ya. The economy realy hit the charter boat captains hard, but if/when it starts to pick up again there will be a shortage of charter services. This leaves a opening for people who are ready for the pick up. It's a lot of money for a boat but I wouldent doubt you could get a start with a known charter service as a second mate helping the clients bait and such. Last I looked it was 1000 bucks for half a day of fishing. But you need a boat insurance and fuel...Still better then slaving away at a job you hate.

So ya know you can’t copy someone else’s business model and succeed , you have to adopt it as your own and love it as your own. Change it to fit your personality. Havent you ever been to a fast food place that sucked cause management sucked?

Anyway, The funniest one is “Dog waist removal services” but some one looked at dog poop and realized there is money in it! They charge 40 bucks a week per dog and the guy is slammed! Last I looked the guy I’m thinking of had over a dozen employees working for him, he just runs the company now, dosent go in to the field at all anymore. You know how much that business cost him to get started? NOTHING not a flipping penny!

There is money to be made you just have to find it.

The only reason I made this thread is all I see is people complaining cause their life is out of their hands. It never has to be this way. Reminds me of a story… Every day at lunch all the workers would sit down for lunch, and every day Bob would open his lunch box and complain. “Peanut butter and jelly again I hate peanut butter and jelly!” weeks went by finally one of his friends said bob why don’t you ask you old lady to make you something else besides peanut butter and jelly. Bob looks back confused and replied “I make my own lunches“.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again: Go live life to it’s ends and enjoy it with the strength of freedom ahead of you. No one will hand you the world on a platter, but it is yours for the taking!

I too run my own business. I have been rich and I have been poor. The problem is that most Americans are lazy and would rather rely on someone else to pay their way without having to be paid for their actual performance.

And then as a business owner when you do become wealthy after taking massive risks and starting your own business, you have a bunch of idiots occupying cities demanding that creating your own wealth is somehow evil and greedy. Or you get unions coming at you organizing YOUR employees to dictate how much they should be paid and what their benefits should be. If you don'y like working at my company, leave. And guess what, if I treat my employees like shit, and they are all going to work for my competitor, then I lose in the end and will be out of business.

That's how a free market works.

America was founded on innovation and the "The American Dream". Unfortunately a bunch of dumb asses in D.C. have programmed people to believe that being rich or creating your own wealth is evil.

All this political bullshit about wealth redistribution is comical. They talk about millionaires, billionaires, and corporate jet owners. Yet the threshold where they want to raise taxes and really "stick it to to the wealthy" starts at $200K a year incomes.

Most small businesses and startups that fail do so because of the taxes, bureaucracy, paperwork, and regulations forced on them, and that is a fact.

If you start a business, take the risks, and become wealthy; you are ENTITLED to reap the monetary rewards of your success.

Plenty of things you can do with very little money, My office cleaning company is a good example. I just need a vacuum, insurance and a car. I kept my regular hourly job at the same time.

Also the dog waist removal service costs nothing at all to start. Sure it's a crappy job but if your able to get 14 accounts, that’s 2 hours of work a day and 560 bucks gross income a week.

Be creative, best to start with a small company with very low overhead before you try your hand at a larger business.
Avoid debt. Example : landscrapers that go bankrupt usually are making payments on the equipment and trucks they are using, hard to get ahead when you are in debt!

One medium size business you can start would be a sub shop. It wouldn’t take much to get one going. Rent and the first food order + a sign out front & Location location location…

With a aquatics shop here is a idea. Start by supplying fish to the stores! By breeding them in your basement or garage. You just have to slowly buy a bunch of old tanks or even make them your self it isent hard. You can even make a filter system easy also. Long as you sell the stores a good product they will come back and order more baby fish from you. It's a very good reasonable idea, with very little risk. .

Molock: Message me if you want more info, I actuley know a lot about fish stores.

Here's one for a laugh but it's BIG money. WORM FARMER! Yes, you can make a lot of money farming worms out of your basement or garage. The waste product is sold as a high quality ferterlizer at about $1 dollar a pound and the worms then selves are sold for bait, about 25 bucks per 1000 worms. The "green" and "organic" people should realy like this idea.

Remember: if you love your work, you'll never work a day in your life.

I personally will be opening a new motorcycle shop hopefully with in a year. Going to make cafe racers along with a few other things like selling T shirts. There is a opening in the market for these right now.

I looked around and NO one makes them anywhere near me, people are driving hundreds of miles to get them. My business plan also includes somthing already done by a lot of businesses, brand the buyer not the cattle for the buyer is more likely to stray, hence T-shirt sales! So I found my nitch just have to have a good plan and execute it.

The number one thing will be no debt. With no debt I will have no presure but what I put on my self.

Buy one of those little do-nut machines that you see at the

Set up a concession trailer and go to events, community yard

machine for the summer and hot chocolate and cider for the
cooler months. You could set up by a busy beach at the lake

Very good idea! Snow cones are nothing but money from water, ice and a flavored sugar. Don't forget the cotton candy machine or even soft serve ice cream. Just buy a used machines and even if your business venture dosent go the way you dreamed your machines wont loose much value long as you took care of them.

I like that idea.

I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

I just don't know what to do, because somebody has done it somewhere, at some time or other.
It's like there's no use for me. Makes me feel like getting a rope and saying the hell with it all and jumping off a bridge.
