Quoting: It's only fair 5156632 Forgiving their student loans would be absolutely unfair to those who didn't get a free college education. You see, if their loans ARE forgiven, they still have a college education and diploma that they then got for FREE, or close to free. It's simply really... If you don't have the money to go to college, then you don't go. If you decide to BORROW money to go to college, then you cannot just decide later that you do not want to pay it back. And if you DO decide not to pay it back, you should have your diploma nullified. There are PLENTY of people who would have liked to go to college, but they couldn't afford it, and they might not have qualified for a loan, for whatever reason. These people obviously do not have a diploma, so those who DO get a loan, (but then don't pay it back) should ALSO not have a diploma. ![]() What's wrong with you is you live in the real world |

You meany--you must be in the evil 1%! |

Yeah.... that's fair. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 5156632 ![]() 11/16/2011 03:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wow.. and no one wants to mention that college grads have a very small chance of actually getting a career in their field of expertise these days? We are all taught to go to college for a better future. A better future than what exactly? Being the manager of a coffee house to feed themselves while they look for jobs? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2778382 Not saying its fair to others who had to pay their loans back, but its not fair these kids cant get jobs either. $80,000 debt (and thats fairly cheap) with a $9.00/hr job. Yeah.... that's fair. Well these people who have diplomas are STILL in the front of the line ahead of those who couldn't go to college for lack of funds. Do you ACTUALLY think that it's fair that someone who DID take the money for college, be given a FREE diploma, when they decide not to pay back the loan, or if the loan was forgiven? That is totally unfair to those without the means to go to college who have NEITHER diploma OR job! |
