Speaking of crazy dreams

I have a really close friend who swears he has never dreamed in his life. Is this normal or is he just BS'ing? Anybody here never dream? He says he's not sure if he doesn't dream or if he just doesn't remember them when he wakes up. (Personally, I think he's blocking a lot of things, but that's JMO). He's 50 if that means anything.
