"POLICE STATE" Personal Experience in Kansas
Wednesday 11-16-11 during my travel on I-70 just outside of Salina Kansas. I was on my cell phone talking with my office and needed to take a few notes. So I pulled over on the interstate. (well off the shoulder). a police officer pulled up behind me with his lights falshing. The officer came up to my vehicle (company branded and I'm wearing a suit)to check on me. I explained to the officer that all was OK. He asked me for my Drivers License, which I produced. He then told me to sit tight while he runs my D.L. to confirm "I did not have any Warrants out for my ARREST".Of course I was clean, but I felt Violated.

I know the officer was doing his job, and I respect the fact that I'm on a public highway. But the reallity hit me after I drove off. We are all "CRIMINALS" untill we prove our innocents.

Interstate shoulders are not for cell phone calls. They are for breakdown and other emergency situations. You should have received a ticket for using it for a friggin cell phone call...

Actually fuck-tard an exit is NOT the place for a side of the road stop. An exit is a dangerous place to stop for ANY reason.

Since it's the DRIVER who determines what qualifies as an emergency, he was exactly correct in using the shoulder to make the call.

Perhaps if you actually drove, instead of riding bitch in the passenger seat you would understand what the roads are really used for.

Now get off of mommy's computer and let the big people talk.

No, I'd rather the OP take the nearest exit. It is dangerous to park on the side of the highway and the OP should have been ticketed for it. Cell phone calls are not important enough to violate the law.

Listen Canuck. You're one stupid fucking hose head if you think anyone was suggesting someone park ON the fucking exit. No hose head, you fucking take an exit and pull off the god damned highway. Get it? Like pull into a gas station or a McDonald's parking lot? Get it hosehead?

Have your papers on you at all times is already a requirement and you're worried about him running a background check?

Its like walking through the holocaust camps and going the paint on these walls is old and dingy while hundreds of people mill around almost dead.

You are to only stop on the shoulder in an emergency, once the officer verified that no emergency existed he followed procedure and verified that you posed no danger to himself or the general public.

If this were a police state like you assume and assumed guilty until proven innocent, you would have been hauled off to jail and sat until you had proven your innocence.

You are a moron. That is completely normal. You'd be singing a different tune if your car was stolen and the driver was asked to show proof of license and your car found and returned because of diligent duty.

Re: "POLICE STATE" Personal Experience in Kansas
Yep, same thing happened to me a few years ago. My wife's sister was ill. I had to go get my wife at work early in the morning. I pulled over to call my wife (I don't like to talk/text and drive) and I was detained for a half hour by an American Indian Tribal Cop, and I AM not Indian!

I complained to my sheriff, who explained to me that the previous sheriff had cross-deputized the tribal cop. Our county sheriff has been fighting to reverse that decision for almost two full terms now.

You have my sympathy.
