it's the asteroid that cried "wolf"!

NASA knew about YU55 for a long time, this WP4 , they just found on Friday!

They literally only have days to know what it is going to do..its actually coming as close, if not closer to the earth than YU, and it seems it will be closer to the earth, than the moon.

At a code 8, I'd say it's anyone's guess right now.

Seems to me - we are moving through a more condensed swarm of these asteroids.
Maybe YU55 was once part of this one found on Friday?
Where's the really big segment/rock that we aren't being told about, or JPL hasn't found yet?

Ahhh... scientists have recalculated the object that struck Tunguska to be only about 25 feet across.

2005 YU55 was at 0.8 LD (miss distance), and it was 200M in size.


2011 WP4 will be at 1.5 LD (miss distance) and will not come between the Earth and Moon. It is 12 m - 27 m in size.

1 LD = Lunar Distance = ~384,000 kilometers

the condition code is 8, which means the orbit is HIGHLY UNCERTAIN at this time. For those who don't understand, the condition code is a scale from 0-9. 0 being highly accurate on the orbit, and 9 being highly uncertain. Good catch OP. Lets all keep a watch on this thing the next few days.

Indeed we'll have a million threads on this which will all be saying how it's veered off course, how it's all disinfo and then the nutters will come out of the woodwork showing us graphs, curves and lots of other shit that's complete BS.

The 12 - 27 metre wide asteroid 2011 WP4 will make a close pass (1.5 lunar distances, 0.0038 AU), travelling at 10.84 km/second, to the Earth-Moon system on the 24th November, 2011 @ 08:13 UT ±00:42.

Meh..an inch is as good as a mile. Won't affect us.
