People came out on the 17th because it was nice out weather wise and they just wanted to get out. for the amount of people that day, there wasnt that much of a protest you know?

It's over for now -- the weather will keep the remnant away.

But even if OWS regroups and comes back in the spring, they'll just be preaching to their own little choir. Whatever sympathy Americans had for the movement is GONE and there's no way to get it back. Folks now realize what the movement really is and who's really involved -- and they want no part of it.

I read somewhere where the movement will be moving south as the weather gets colder, but haven't seen any evidence of that.

you must have watched from your couch, I was on the streets, i witnessed 30k people marching over the brooklyn bridge, in the streets, conducting ga's, and people communicating face to face about the fundamental issues we the people of earth face, and BTW the weather was in the thirties and dropped below freezing at night, not to mention it was raining through most of the day.

The Tea Party movement and the OWS movement is an indicator of the rage people are feeling. This cuts across idealogical and class lines. As long as the elites continue to marginalize and ignore their concerns the dissatisfaction and rage will build. This protest may be over for now but it will only build. Next year I believe the demonstrations will be even larger. There is no stopping this anymore, the old ways of mockery and marginalization are no longer going to work. This is a worldwide thing.

Don't compare the Tea Party to this band of idiots. The Tea Party is trying to stop communists like Obama from destroying the USA. OWS is compromised of communists like Obama that want the USA destroyed.
