A Speedy Trial for Tom DeLay?
Quote from MSNBC article:
DeLay´s lawyer is asking for:

A speedy trial, because the indictments “have already had adverse collateral consequences including the temporary loss of Tom DeLay’s leadership position in the United States Congress and an unknown effect on the upcoming (March 2006) primary election.”

I personally think the reason given in the quote is certainly not applicable in only his case. What makes him so special. Certainly many people brought up on criminal charges could claim "adverse collateral consequences". If he is granted this for these reasons then it WILL set a precedent and everyone will be JUSTIFIED in arguing the same cause for a speedy trial!
