"A STITCH IN TIME"

There's still time to save our stricken ship
Though the crew abandoned it, and the captains split right down in between the skull....
The crew were a bunch of bilge rats
But I think I can still patch the hull
I'm tearing up my clothes to patch the sails, on this old vessel....
The captains quarters became the patch for my deck and rails..

A stitch in time can save what was once was mine, good help is so hard to find,......
A stitch in time to save this sinking man, the sirens of Titan call me into the rocks, and I have half a mind to listen....
And sea foaming and glistening and leave it all behind,....
Indecision ....
Smashed across the cliffs of madness timbers obliterated in the torrent of Neptune's laughter, it echoes in my head as all memories are cleansed by the relentless ocean clatter
All green in the grey of february's dawn, and what I was, seemed to me foreign and strange like a dream of someone else....

And I struggled in infinity, dreading the sea...
As best I could, knowing eventually my time would come, as the remaining part of me still understood , death comes for us all, and the sooner we're taken, the sooner we can rebuild...
So crash me about, and in time, entire continents dissolve into the sea....
Where then do we place the corner stone of the temple?
Below the waves is all thats real, the universal solvent, the vitriol- the stone the builders reject !!!

"TRAILS OF SMOKE"


Trails of smoke through the trees
Pine needles carpet my forest floor
While the flickering orange of the campfire glow, mark faces in the leaves dancing in the breeze.....
Stretched neath my green canopy
Deep in the woods, the night is black as ink
The night sounds are faint and color my thoughts, and carry me with them across the tree tops, along a gurgling stream, pushing and pulling each other, in and out of sight
Aspen, birch, and evergreen, redwood, pine, oak, apple tree....
I lichen rocks to moss and branch, envision cups of wine and grapes amongst the ivy in their clustered bunches
An occasional diamond star cuts through the shield of twigs and boles, black paper sky pricked full of holes...

Who goes there in the shadows ?
Is that the horn of Bootes the hunter?
Chasing my soul assunder the violence of thunder, and the silence of slumber

Real life is out here where hands hold hands and your child is there to take to the woods or the stars....

... Took my shoes off and walked in the long green grass, the blue sky confused the babbling brook...
I paused to take a drink....
Cool water, sweet and clear like diamonds in my eyes...
I awoke frozen to the earth, an aged weeping willow I'd become..
Tall and hollow...waving in the breeze..
My attention shifted and I moved along with the gurgling waters, sliding smoothly along the polished river stones, black with glittering specks...
Deep into the roots of the earth, cradled in the sweet silent earth.
