Has Your Thanksgiving (Butterball) Turkey Been Sacrificed To Idols?

I post this not because of the fact that the Turkey is slaughtered according to Islamic "halal" standards, but because it is not labeled as such.

There are those, including myself, that prefer not to buy Halal food.

How can I know this if the companies are not providing this information by stating it on the label?

Thank you, KoFFee, for this information. I quit buying Tyson frozen chicken when I read that their workforce is predominantly muslim - they even instituted a muslim holiday for the workers and gave them time to pray 5 times a day or whatever it is they do with their rumps up in the air.

These days you just can't be too careful about what you are eating or drinking. You never know what may have been put into it.

I wonder, if it is "halal" and you don't know it, would saying a Christian blessing over it "re-purpose" it?

I truly don't know the answer to that, but this is how I feel:

My first thought is "greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world". Our Lord God is our protector and our family always asks Him to bless our food--and because we asked Him, He will. Who better to put a blessing on our food then Almighty God? No one!--His blessing trumps any other thing that has happened to the food.

If in fact it is true about how money spent on halal food helps to support terrorism, I don't want to be any part of it.

Plus, have you ever watched how they slaughter these animals?

Actually, don't watch any of the videos, it is very disturbing, especially the ones with the cows.

I'm tired and not thinking too straight right now, but to get back to the question about a Christian blessing--always, always, always pray before each meal and ask God to bless it--and He will--that's a good thing.

Eating food sacrificed to idols or foreign gods always seemed like ancient history to me. It’s something you read about in the Old Testament and wonder at how bizarre a scene that must be. Just when I thought I couldn’t be surprised anymore, I ran across this today and my jaw just dropped open for a few moments in disbelief. Butterball Turkey doesn’t advertise this, but all of their turkeys are slaughtered in accordance with Halal, which basically offers up the animal in sacrifice to Allah who in my view is nothing more than a demon at worst and a hollow idiot from a deadly cult at best.

I am just shocked. However unceremonious, coldly irreverent the slaughterhouse, or hidden the sacrifice was, we actually may have eaten food that was sacrificed to a demonic god. I know that what goes into the body is not what makes a person unclean, but what is in their heart. Still, this was one to think about. God help us.
