Anonymous Coward User ID: 954995 United States 11/28/2011 12:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Researchers are not sure what the long term effects will be on unborn children or growing children. From what I read, this technology shreds a person's DNA. When cells reproduce, they are reproducing damaged DNA. I also remember reading something about a class action law suit filed by workers who work around these scanners, and how they are coming down with cancer. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 6860 United States 11/28/2011 12:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would suggest the following tacks: 1) They are ineffective at what they claim to do (i.e. secure our airports) a) GAO red team reports - this is where GAO investigators try to slip in fake weapons past TSA. 50% success at times. b) Comparison to Israeli airport security. In Israel they hire the best and brightest for airport security and sky marshal duty. Compare that to the dim bulbs you find at our checkpoints c) Number of weapons that have slipped past security d) The literally hundreds of TSA personnel who have been convicted of stealing, raping, and drug trafficking. 2) They are a government bureaucracy who is engaging in mission creep. It's all about their power and budget base at this point. a) Reports of TSA running highway checkpoints b) DHS getting their fingers in almost every industry in the form of security regulations (CSAT and Top Screen). 3) They are completely unconstitutional. a) They have violated the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th amendments to the Constitution. b) They are domestic enemies to the Constitution and need to be defunded and disbanded. 4) The DHS budget is constructed in such a way deliberately to make defunding it very difficult a) DHS gets it funding not from a single line item but from "taxes" on many federal agency budgets. For example, federal bureaucracy "KGB" has a small percentage of its budget going to DHS, by law. |

Has some good numbers on passenger counts at major airports worldwide by year. [link to www.aci.aero] Repeal the 17th Amendment and the Reapportionment Act of 1929! [link to www.nextgov.com] That is just a quick search on google. Maybe you can contact the union and see if you can get any further information. |
Mrbillybadass (OP) User ID: 760726 United States 11/28/2011 12:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you everyone. Although I do believe all of this I don't want to venture too far with the "conspiracy theories" my experience is if you introduce too much too fast the person immediately rejects it. Want to use this as an opportunity to educating some of the ignorant. I do plan to talk about the F.A.S.T. vehicles, and back scatter vans though. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 6860 United States 11/28/2011 12:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Also DHS and TSA massaged the cost numbers when it came to compare them with private security at airports. Is there a week that passes without some story of a citizen being violated by TSA/DHS or drug smuggling by screeners? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6860 I've worked in government for 20 years. What has been posted here by various posters is fact. Believe me I know it's fact, but if someone isn't gradually introduced to it they reject it with every inch of their being. |
