Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1356602 Yes the Somoan puched me in the head and when I did not go down he backed up (I am six foot six and three hundred pounds) and then I started talking...they ran out my door slipping all over the ice. |

Do you have a gun permit? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1356602 I live in the only ghetto in Alaska, they were stoned, and I do not remember what they were wearing...that gun took up most of my attention. -pathfinder- (OP) User ID: 6128151 United States 11/30/2011 12:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The police are gone for now. This was a bad experence I never want repeated. Shooting kids is not something I want to be involed with...but what can a person do...really is this really what things have come to. How happy I am that they were not black and then...I am getting to where I blame all this nonsence everywhere on them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1356602 They walked in through my screen door acting like they knew me... I meet alot of people around here when I am drinking...so I was like 'yea maybe I have seen you guys around here'. The hispanic guy asked me if I wanted to buy some pills. I smoke pot, so I said no...that is was when the gun came out. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1356602 Better home really. That Somoan must have a broken his hand...my forehead is skinned up and three lumps are getting bigger...the look on his face when I did not go down was pure shock...if I had been drinking it could have gotten really bad. |

This has been intensified with the advent of barrel-rifling. Second, this is not what it's come to, it always has been .. get out your cave sometimes please. And finally, next time somebody walks into "your" house and "YOU" if you know "THEM" (gawd!!) .. man you need to start stumpin some assssss!! P.S.: Live long and uhmmmmm ... stay "robed"!! |

Here's a thought... MOVE OUT OF THE GHETTO!!!! If you want a good alternative Alaskan town to live in that is smaller, offers a good quality of life, and does not have a problem with home invasions, I suggest you consider moving to Homer. [link to www.homeralaska.org] My husband is from Homer and his brother still lives there. People in Homer eat alot of free salmon (pinks, kings, silvers) that are fairly easy to catch. It also has plentiful king crab. People grow huge vegetables in their gardens and the homemade jam made from wild raspberries is to die for, literally. Homer is also known as "the halibut capital of the world". This is one of the reasons there is still a decent amount of tourist trade there. If you haven't been to Homer before, the town has a kind of artsy feel to it. There's a good hospital there, a community college, and a thriving fishing industry. There are also good full service grocery stores and many restaurants and bars. Homer is still a tight knit community. People are generally honest and look out for their neighbors. If I were you I would count my lucky stars and be making tracks to get the heck out of Anchorage. That place can only go downhill as I am sure you are already aware. At least get yourself out of the "ghetto" where you are now. Good luck. |

Thank you for the information about Homer...I have been thinking about moving to another town for the last three months and Homer sound great. You're welcome. If you end up seriously considering a move to Homer, try looking for a government job where the assigned territory is Homer. There is a small but fairly busy airport in Homer too which may have some job opportunities. Here are some links to open job opportunities in Homer: [link to www.indeed.com] [link to alexsys.labor.state.ak.us (secure)] And here is a link to the Homer Visitor's Guide: [link to akms.com] This paragraph is a good core description of Homer: Homer sports a lively recreation scene along the 5-mile long, world-famous Homer Spit, and offers travelers an unbelievably spectacular view of Kachemak Bay. The harbor is lined with charter boats for hire, and fresh halibut, crab and shrimp can be purchased from seafood shops along the docks.
