Can Anyone Tell Me What The Christmas TREE, Bells, Lights, Snowmen, Santa Claus Have To Do With Christ?

Since Jesus was conceived six months after John the Baptist, and we have established a likely date for John's birth, we need only move six months farther down the Jewish calendar to arrive at a likely date for the birth of Jesus. From the 15th day of the 1st month, Nisan, we go to the 15th day of the 7th month, Tishri. And what do we find on that date? It is the festival of Tabernacles! The 15th day of Tishri begins the third and last festival of the year to which all the men of Israel were to gather in Jerusalem for Temple services. (Lev 23:34)

The Christmas Tree

Have you ever just sat down and wondered why a tree set up in our house would have anything to do with Jesus, His birth, or His life? Why would we decorate a "TREE" with all its fancy balls and lights and ornaments and put it in our house for the sake of Jesus?? Why would we bow before it to lay down gifts? Let us now take a closer look and see just where this "tradition" came from.
Since the earliest of times, trees, especially green evergreens, were worshipped by the pagans. To them it represented life and freshness. Since it was EVER green, it always had life. The trees were worshipped as symbols of life, fertility, sexual potency and reproduction.

These pagan rituals of worship were then brought into the homes and set up as idols, with the belief that it would give men a heightened potency of sexual virility to procreate new life for their harvest god in the new year. The evergreen tree represented a "PHALLIC" symbol (the mans sexual organ of reproduction) set in an upright position.. Any wonder why people hang round balls on a tree? Please do not be offended. This pagan ritual was to say the least, very profane in the sight of God!

There are many scriptures that the Lord has warned us about in dealing with idols and those things the HEATHEN do, of which we are commanded to NEVER do or imitate. We are told by God to never bring into our homes those things that are practiced by the wickedness of the world. It is truly amazing at how much "Christianity" has embraced from the trenches of the world system. This is why it is time to again preach the Kingdom of God with all holiness and obedience. Please read the following scripture and know that God knew even in the days of Jeremiah the practices and ways of the heathen. For even then, Satan was the god of this world. Listen to what the scriptures say as we have been warned in Jeremiah 10:1-5 about this:

"Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, o house of Israel. Thus saith the Lord, learn not the ways of the heathen and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They deck it with silver and with gold: they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are "upright" as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

In Northern Europe, the ancient Germanic people tied fruit and attached candles to evergreen tree branches, in honor of their god Woden.

Trees were viewed as symbolizing eternal life.

This is the deity after which Wednesday was named. The trees joined holly, mistletoe, the wassail bowl and the Yule log as symbols of the season.

All predated Christianity.

I do have these things around....in my attic. However, after many studies it's obvious that these things are nothing more than Paganism mixed with Christianity brought to you by the Catholic church.

They do take the focus off of Christ but in my opinion we "take up our cross daily" and a little tree or snowman will not hinder that progression. Hardly anyone is worshipping their christmas tree.

If its a stumbling block for your faith by all means get rid of it. But IMO it falls under the wine, meat, etc category.

Still doesn't answer the question...What do any of these things have to do with Jesus??

As the entire bible and it's companion one god religious books (Torah, Koran) is a mishmash of stolen stories from other religions and cultures so too are the ceremonies surrounding it. Makes perfect sense to include as much tradition as possible from pagans and others as a way to encourage more people to join in.

My husband and I have also been studying and trying to learn. We stopped celebrating Christmas last year. We are celebrating Hannukkah and at first I felt a little like we might be just substituting one for the other but as we learn about the Macabees we realize that their story parallels what the true believers will go through at the end. We also know that Jesus celebrated Hannukkah and as we all know declared himself as the light of the world. His people will wake up and will begin to serve Him. Remember God said not to learn the ways of the heathens and do their ways and say its for Him. Early Christians took the pagan celebration of Dec. 25 th and tried to convert it to a Christian holiday but based it all on lies. Jesus was not born in Dec. and it does not fall as on of the feast day, and therefore should not be celebrated by true believers. Someone asked if we think people will go to hell for celebrating Christmas. The true is, none of us know but I do know that Jesus said few hear his voice and listens and few will follow the narrow gate. That hasn't changed. We still have a rebellious nature and want to do things our way. I feel that's how most people are with Christmas. The majority has not studied or questioned Christmas and don't realize they have been deceived and lied to. Some when told and learns that it is pagan and not celebrating what they thought shrug their shoulders and pretend it doesn't matter. Only a few will repent and try to change.

The season of sagitarius however ends on December 21, and moves to capricorn, a season of let down, reflection.

the christians, in their conquering ways, could not stop this season of celebration, and incorporated it as their own, calling it CHRISTmas.

The placing of the date to December 25, would have the celestial effect of reflection. Which you are supposed to reflect the so-called martyr's death and give thanks.

i asked my parents a similar question when i was very little, OP.
my mother, a die hard christian, said when jesus was born that even the trees gave honor by producing their friits and flowers just for his birth.

i dont believe it now, but it sounded good to me back then.
