The CH4 [methane] supersaturation, recently reported from the eastern Siberian shelf, is believed to be the result of the degradation of subsea permafrost that is due to the long-lasting warming initiated by permafrost submergence about 8000 years ago rather than from those triggered by recent Arctic climate changes.

There was a thread a while ago, maybe a couple of months, about worms surfacing all over in California and the Pacific Northwest. I'm too lazy to search for it. I think that could be related too: H2S seeping into the ground, the worms reacting and trying to flee by getting out of the ground.

H2S is somewhat water-soluble, by the way. In that form it is called hydrosulfuric acid, ph of 6.9 (a very weak acid), and chemically it's H2S (aq), the (aq) meaning 'aqueous'.

So all these people being found dead in tubs, showers, pools, hot tubs, in lakes and streams and rivers, etc - I really have to wonder about that. One of the two friends that dropped dead on me was found dead in the shower too. Could be it's getting into the water. Not everywhere, but here and there, maybe dependent on whether you get your water from wells or open-air reservoirs or what. I'm not sure though. Just watching the data, trying to figure it out.

Re: Massive Methane LEAK in Arctic sea - the End is Nigh
About chemtrails: I think they have multiple purposes, but are mostly intended to accomplish the following:

* Block our view, when needed, of various objects passing through the inner solar system

* Block and reflect radiation coming from the Sun, to prevent at least some heating (which compounds the H2S problem), and to replace the shielding provided by our ozone layer as the ozone layer disappears

* To provide metallic atmospheric particles that work with HAARP to create upper-atmospheric arcs to create ozone in the upper atmosphere

* To provide particles that help scrub the H2S from the atmosphere

Here's some good info from a purported chemtrail scientist. I believe he was telling the truth (though not the WHOLE truth):

[link to www.holmestead.ca]

In that email interview, he explains what HE thought was the purpose of chemtrails - to help mitigate 'UV Summer'. He only explained the problem in the context of human pollution and the ozone layer problem, but never mentioned the greater problem, the warming oceans and H2S. That's why I say he didn't tell ALL of the truth. Maybe he didn't know all of the truth.

In any case, aluminum oxide (also called alumina) has been reported by many to be a part of the mixture. That makes some sense: it's lightweight, it's reflective, it would help reflect some energy back into space. It does have another use too, as part of the Claus process:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

OLD technology, from the late 1800s. But it's how we take H2S out of a gas stream. It's the best way to do that that we know about. So if we have an H2S problem (and we do) then you'd expect the Claus process to play a part in our defense.

So, that 'roaring sound' people are hearing in the sky? I think we HAVE mastered routing light around objects to make them invisible. Maybe we reverse-engineered that technology from ET craft, maybe we came up with it ourselves. Who knows. But I think that roaring sound is coming from large industrial-scale Claus plants floating invisibly above us, sucking in dirty air (the input gas stream) and aluminum oxide (from the chemtrails) and spewing out clean air. The roaring is from the air intakes and exhausts.

This is just a hypothesis, but it does seem to fit.

Death from drinking contaminated water. Pure reverse osmosis for water should correct that problem and that is if only people are aware of the need will they do something about it.

A 1km methane leak accounts as 1/510000000

The Earth surface area is 510 million km^2

Assuming there are at least 1000 leaks, and all are about 1km square. That would be 0.0002% of surface area.

Considering the Earths atmosphere 4,200,000,000 cubic km. It would take decades to make the atmosphere explosive.

Rest easy people, this is a non-doom issue atm.

However, should the oceans encounter a globally universal environment where the methane build up is released simultaneously......well, then were in trouble.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1405546

I find that kind of annoying, especially the bit about "it would take decades to make the atmosphere explosive. Rest easy people"

So because it would take decades to make the atmosphere explosive, we can rest easy? Presumably because most of us won't be around in decades when it becomes a problem.

Just push it off on the next generation, and let them deal with it, when it's completely FUBAR. That's been the current thinking from the dwindling neanderthal wing of the Republican Party.

Keep in mind though, that the current standard bearer of the Republican Party, no other than Grand Poobah and Oracle extraordinaire Newt Gingrich is a believer in global climate change and is in support of reducing greenhouse gasses.

Wouldn't the methane cloud eventually encounter a lightning storm and ignite itself before it had a chance to spread so far that the entire atmosphere became combustible?
 Quoting: Just passing through. 7158831

If either H2S or methane plumes are concentrated enough then yes, if they encounter a spark they will ignite and possibly explode. That's probably what all these mysterious 'explosion sounds' and 'boom sounds' are that people are hearing around the world. Lots of homes exploding and/or catching fire lately too, as well as chemical plants, oil refineries, ammo depots, rocket bases, etc.

The entire atmosphere will not explode. Instead we will have many smaller explosions and fires as everything that is combustible eventually burns.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1003588

I live in Alaska and for the past couple of months there have been lots of sparks in this house, you can't touch the doors or walls without getting a bad shock, and you can see blue sparks. This has never happened before. Also when you walk down the hallway and turn a corner it's like you can feel like a cloud of energy coming out of the walls about a foot or so, it's hard to describe.

It's as if this house is full of electricity, I've been worried it's going to catch fire.

Everyone has been tired and muddle-headed too including the dogs.

This from wikipedia:

Hydrogen sulfide was used by the British as a chemical agent during World War I. It was not considered to be an ideal war gas, but, while other gases were in short supply, it was used on two occasions in 1916.

So we could be gassed and then mother nature takes the blame.

There's a thread today about large numbers of schools being torn down and rebuilt, with smaller windows and such, so they look like detention facilities. I think that's related too - the bigger and more numerous the windows, the more places for the gas to seep in. And schools are where it's VERY hard to hide the health problems, like those six kids at Leroy school in NY who suddenly came down with a Tourette's-like condition complete with muscle tics and such. H2S poisons all parts of the body, but neurology more than any other. I think it's the neurological damage that's causing the Tourette's-like stuff and the people speaking gibberish - the 'burtations'.

And NYC is doing some kind of extensive subway maintenance too, in Janurary or February, I forget which. There was a thread about that a coupla weeks ago I think.

Both H2S and methane displace oxygen in the blood causing nausea, dizziness, confusion and worse.

Methane is odorless and colorless. If you are breathing it you don't know it.

H2S on the other hand smells badly like rotten eggs, so that would be a good tip to know.

Many posters seem to be focusing only on the H2S, I'd be more worried over the methane.

Both H2S and methane are flammable gases, both can cause explosions.

H2S kills you in one or two breaths. At least with methane, you might have time to put on a respirator. H2S is also MORE flammable than methane.

I think there are two separate but related events occurring here.

First, the Gulf circulation stopped. That heated up the Gulf, to 100 degrees F this past year. The heat is now accumulating rather than being mixed. So where there are dead zones, they are converting the biomatter (dead stuff) into H2S, and this is killing off more stuff, etc, a feedback loop.

At the same time, the methane hydrates are being released as they begin to melt. This too is self-reinforcing.

The first event, the dead zones and the H2S, is already under way and well along in the process. When that event meets the second event - the melting methane hydrates - then those ancient bacteria are going to go berserk reproductively, and there will be enormous clouds of H2S AND methane flooding our atmosphere. If we don't have a solution by then, then that's it, get underground or get off the planet, or die.

The disappearing ozone layer will also bask the planet in deadly levels of UVB and other radiation. That's also well under way. 40,000 acres of wheat died off last year in Oregon. The plants shielded somewhat from the Sun by stone border walls survived, but all the plants fully exposed to the Sun died. I guess the chemtrail protection in Oregon was lacking in that area, so the crops at that farm simply died.

I'm personally much more worried about the H2S, because it's so lethal. It's as lethal as hydrogen cyanide, which is what they use in gas chambers.

Oh, and the smell thing: H2S has no odor once you go beyond a trivial concentration. When there's hardly any around, it smells like rotten eggs. Beyond a trivial concentration, you quickly lose the ability to smell it at all. At medium to medium-high concentrations (300-500 ppm or so), some people say it smells sickly sweet or flowery (though most don't smell it at all at that concentration). DON'T count on being able to smell it.

really? You won't, because the oceans and air are too poluted, we are in the photon belt and the core is heating, and we are expecting the next lap of the wave which will produce earth changes so heavy even the plants will not survive.

there is a large plan around that one.
