x mas, as you say it...is not Christmas. It actually has a negative type of degredation to say xmas instead of Christmas.

Anyway...Christmas was made to be about Christ long after the day was already being celebrated by pagans. So...Christians took a pagan holiday, and made it become a Christian holiday. However...lights, trees, santa claus...nothing to do with Christ. And...there is no way that hanging lights on a house have anything to do with Christ.

Choose your battles young one...this shouldn't be one of them.

I like most atheist can choose to partcipate in all our cultural clebrations and delusional ...without any fear or effect of their divisive dogmas. Christmas being a pagan event and not the artificial christian party of course

If it was just me, I wouldn't bother.

Basically it's about Santa and little children believing in him, you can't deny them that being good all year gets them their presents and you can't destroy their beliefs in Santa, most kids don't associate Xmas with religion, so my point is atheists do it for keeping the spirit of Santa and family alive, all the while knowing it's a crock of shit......

They also like to dress up as the Easter bunny and hide Easter eggs with their children.
