Yes... He and his brothers came out of the Great Depression, having had to live in an orphanage, to survive, and YES, the Military WAS an OPPORTUNITY for them to have a better life.


THAT opportunity led to a reliable income, and an opportunity for my Mother. She became an "ARMY WIFE", and moved throughout the world.... Raising 4 Daughters and ME!

Glad you have found about your father's contribution to the war. What theatre was he in? Was he part of D-Day, or some other major battle? Find out more, it is very empowering to know that kind of courage runs in your blood.

I have two grandfathers that were part of the war. One who was part of tbe famed 101st Airborne that parachuted in behind enemy lines on D-day. The other was an educated man who was part of the OSS and the Manhatten Project.

My Dad died at age 83...

My father and uncles also fought in WWII. Father was young during the war, early teens and his contribution was to be runner and cleaner for the resistance.

My uncle spent time in a concentration camp and only by the grace of God did he get out to fight with the resistance.

If you think they weren't fighting for their freedom and the freedom of their families, you are dead wrong.

The stories they shared about the war haunt me to this day.

Most Germans didn't have blond hair and blue eyes. Most had brown hair and often blue eyes, but there were lots of brown eyes too. Hitler's first girlfriend had brown hair and brown eyes. And of course Hitler did not have blond hair.

Most blonds are found in the Baltic countries. And there were more blonds among the Prussian Germans but they were all exterminated right after the war by the Soviets who also took the land after destroying everything alive or not.

AMERICANS: Freedom isn't free, and the tab has long been due. Many of you didn't bring this on yourself, but you're charged with paying the debt of liberty for those whom came before you, and those to follow.

There are a lot of similarities going on in this country to nazi Germany.

Look at how people have suddenly become so enraged over "lazy people who take my hard-earned tax dollars", there is now hatred for elderly people (some posters on this forum say they should be put to death), comtempt for the poor and handicapped, to me it's like the development of another nazi Germany, only this time it's happening in a different time and place with different people. Hilter used to complain terribly about those who did not work hard and used up govt. resources.

I admire our soldiers from WWII, they were good guys and loved by the liberated, they did not rape and torture innocent civilians for jollies, they were honorable and respectable men unlike the Soviet soldiers.
