I Didn't Believe the talk about the Sun being out of place..
NOW I do. It's been awhile since I checked, but this morning I went out to look and the Sun is rising in the Southeast. My house faces South. Every morning for years a friend (now deceased) and I would have coffee on my covered back deck which faces North. Every morning summer or winter, we'd end up moving our chairs as the sun got higher because it would shine in our faces.

I stopped having coffee out there when she died in 2008, but today I read again where the Sun is out of place. I went out to look after all this time. It was nowhere near where it used to be and was not shining on my deck. I walked around the house and finally there it was in the Southeast. The Sun's rays are coming through my front door.

I'm in shock....

Yeah the eskimoos said it too. Ofcourse they don't have any telescopes and stuff, and well, it is us and not the sun that could be out of place, but who knows..... maybe it is so.
I would think it would have dramatic consequences pretty fast, but well, logic is not part of these kinds of crazy.

Yes I realize it's the Earth, not the Sun. I had checked on and off for awhile but the change was so small and I attributed it to the Seasons. I suppose that is why I was so shocked this morning since I haven't checked it out for so long.

No kidding. I have lived in this home for twenty three years. I am an avid observer of moon and sun and never has the sun been so far towards the south in the eastern sky. I have mentioned this many times ovedr the past month to my husband.

It's summer down here in the Southern Hemisphere.

It's winter there in the Northern Hemisphere.

So, it's obvious that the Sun should rise in the Southeast from your perspective.

No, not this far southeast. It's much further south than I've ever seen it. I've been out in the mornings for years and I know the differences in the sunrise from different seasons.

Thanks for the backup on the Sun. I live out in the country and I go outside every night and have been for about 6 years, to give the dogs one last round of playing ball before bedtime and I still can't get a grip on what the moon is doing. Probably because I'm not sure where it should be. I know it always rises in the east, sometimes northeast, sometimes just east, haven't seen it come from too far southeast yet. So the moon remains an enigma for me.

I think your memory isn't as good as you think. The sun has moved it's position in the sky in a regular pattern for thousands of years, and there are even ancient monuments, some of them well over 4,000 years old, that still line up with it today.

unless your deck is on a turntable, then it wouldn't have the same pattern of sunlight summer and winter, and if you think it was always the same, then I'm afraid you're mistaken...

The beginning of the year, it was too far North. I know it changes with the seasons but never this much. It was setting almost directly North instead of West. Now it is too far South.

This is what happens when the sheeple have no clue about precession cycles and that the sun sets at different angles on the horizon as the Earth moves around the elliptical orbit around the Sun.

But why research a bit of science, everything is a conspiracy....

And yet, for some strange reason, the lunar and solar eclipses of the last few weeks happened exactly as predicted. How do you explain those if the sun is supposedly out of position?

How do the summer and winter solstice alignments at various ancient monuments all over the world still happen as expected?

Why have astronomers, amateur and professional, not noticed these changes and been raising merry hell about them on all the astronomy forums?

How can solar observation satellites still be giving us clear images of the sun if it's not where it's supposed to be?

Maybe if you check online skymap sites, or download a program like Stellarium, you'll get a better idea of what actually happens in the sky. Memories can easily fool you, and if you don't observe regularly you'll have no reference for what's normal and what's not...

It is supposed to rise in the south east for those in the northern hemisphere right now. I could estimate where it is from perhaps one spot in the morning. The place I used to have a clear view of rise, has a house there now, but maybe this other spot. I don't drive any more so I can't get to really good place to look and estimate.

However, the axis has shifted nearly 4 degrees over that past year or so and this I proved to myself close enough anyway at this last equinox which was about that distance from where it used to be, south of where it used to be, by close enough to almost 4 degrees.

right now solar noon where I live is 8 to 10 minutes late, but the sunbeam beam cast thru my south window seems about where it was last year as we approached solstice.

the recent eclipse was not supposed to be seen in colorado, in Boulder specifically, so something was not right. I purposely made no effort to see because it wasn't supposed to come here at all. I live in Denver. spaceweather.com posted the pic from Boulder.

That happens as we get close to winter solstice. There's nothing wrong with the sun's position in the sky.

I'm amazed - it's only a few days to the winter solstice and we haven't had the usual rash of threads claiming "the sun's too far south".

Either people are actually learning something about the real world from the posts here (Yaaay!!) or they're currently all too busy misundertanding the moon's movements and posting tripe about that (Booo!!).

Hard to say which...

It's not the sun and the moon that are out of position. It's the earth. The last 2 major eq's, Chile and Honshu, MOVED THE EARTH'S POSITITION ON IT'S AXIS. That's why things look weird.

LOL - do you really think you can see the change in the earth's axis caused by earthquakes. Here's a hint - it's measured in microarcseconds.

If you claim you're seeing some "weird" misplacement of objects in the sky, you need to produce evidence - images or videos, with times, dates, locations etc.

And you also need to explain why the sun still aligns correctly with ancient monuments, why the pole star is still in it's correct place, why GOTO telescopes still track correctly, why sailors can still use celestial navigation, etc. etc. etc...

Try getting a copy of Stellarium, and checking where the sun is supposed to be, and then, if you still think it's "weird", produce the evidence to back it up.

Wrong. Earthquakes such as those only affect our axis by a few milliarcseconds. You cannot perceive a shift of that magnitude by eye or even by telescope. It's orders of magnitude too small. Everything is where it should be to within telescopic resolution.

I must admit i notice it as well... i know without a doubt that its in a place where it shouldnt be at a certain time in the morning. I also know that the sun is at a different place during certain times of the year..i learned that in high school and college so i know all about the various locations the sun takes at different times of the year. In very recent years i have noticed it in a area it has never EVER been at before. Its quite easy as i been sitting in the same kitchen seat for the last 14 years now at the same time frame in the morning. FACT > You do that every day for 14 years and you tend to know when the sun is at a place it never has been before..regardless of the particular time of the year and time of the day it may be..

I use to be a skeptic as well years ago when this first started popping up in GLP much more then usual. There have always been people saying this for years now..but it wasnt until recently that when the amount of people saying this dramatically rose in frequency. Now im a firm believer that they were right as i seen it for my own eye's.

What ever it may be or the reason behind it is definately being ignored by Mainstream Media for a reason..what the reason is makes me wonder. I just dont understand why you get one or two reliable reports on this and that quickly gets smoothered and overlooked and no mainstream media outlets pick it up and report on it..odd to say the least.

Im not a doom-tard type of person..infact i think 90% of doom posted in here never remotely comes to reality...and im definately not suggesting this is doom type stuff...there could be a explaination im not aware of but even so..im 37 years old and never EVER noticed this change of the sun's location in the sky like this.

If you take GLP as your source of information, then you will always be assuming things aren't right in the skies, that "TPTB" are using chemtrails and HAARP to control us all, and that a comet or asteroid is about to make us all extinct.

Try some other, more factual, information source, or maybe even do some research of your own.

Sorry, wrong pole. Please try again... (The hint's in your own post - "compass".)

Changes in runway numbering are done due to the movement of the magnetic poles, and have been done for decades. Some airports are affected more than others, depending on their location.

Now, if you're watching the news, plese try to understand what they're reporting, and don't blindly accept the GLP spin that gets put on every story like this. Do some research of your own...
