But that is still not the most important thing. The main thing is, it seems to me, that these revolutionary changes will enable us to escape from the rather antiquated straitjacket of this bipolar view of the world, and to enter at last into an era of multipolarity. That is, into an era in which all of us, large and small, former slaves and former masters, will be able to create what your great President Lincoln called "the family of man".

i'm thinking he rises from the dead this week... last minute medical help was applied to him by his friend the Dali Lama...!

I admired his spirit ... there were many who thought he had a greater role to play in the world as leader of the U.N. or as president of the EU... those options aren't looking too good right now.

A thinker the world should mourn. Rock on matey...

some thought he was the Beast - so don't be surprised if the casket in the castle opens while the world is watching later this week...

I always knew he would not be. He was much too sick in his later years to take on such a role. There were a lot of things people wanted him to do and if he had not been so ill, perhaps he could have done more. The Middle East wanted him to be their mediator too, but that didn't work out either. (smile)

I suppose a lot of people thought there would never be another Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, but then along came Havel. Perhaps someday there might be another Czech who can compare to both of them. But it won't happen very often.

RIP. And forgive me.
