Korea, test fires missiles in wake of Kim Jong Il's death full article: [ link to www.thehalsreport.com] Shortly after the announcement of Kim Jong Il’s death, the North Korean military test fired two short-range missiles from the capital city of Pyongyang. The response came immediately after South Korea put its military on alert following the death of North Koreas “dear leader” Kim Jong Il. South Korea’s Yonhap news agency claims two South Korean military officials couldn’t immediately confirm the report because it would breach the country’s military intelligence protocol. The North frequently conducts short-range missile tests, and although North Korea claims the testing does not coincide with Kim Jong Il’s death, but there may be many people who believe otherwise. For some time now North Korea has been testing its KN-06 missile, a updated version of the KN-01 and KN-02 ground-to-ground missiles. The missiles are estimated to have a 72 mile range. North Korea is urging its people to rally behind Kim Jong Il’s son, Kim Jong Un. But as the world sits back and watches the story develop, tensions and questions of instability in the region begin to rise. Last Edited by The Real News on 12/19/2011 01:10 PM |

Korea, test fires missiles in wake of Kim Jong Il's death The ONE missile was fired 4 hrs before the announcement was made. The ONE missile was fired into the sea and was not aimed anywhere near the south. If it had of been fired after there would be all out war. Both the north and south announce missile tests so they don't misinterpret the act as an aggressive maneuver.
