No, the children are still considered legitimate, it just frees the parents to remarry different people in the Church. At least that is what the nuns told me in Catholic school as a child during religious studies. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7332052 QFT You cannot have a marriage annulled in the Catholic Church if you have had children during that marriage. Divorced in the eyes of the state - no problem. Annulled in the eyes of God - No. You cannot 'undo' a child, it is actually the core evidence of a consummated marriage. Annulment rules are very strict in the Catholic Church. Protestant churches? Who cares. "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible." [link to www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us] |

Usually cluttered, it was now completely barren except for one piece of paper. He directed me to sit across from him; then he stared at me for a full minute. He had known me since I was a baby. Now, I was in my twenties. Without any warning and with a suddenness that gave me a start, he slammed his hand down on the piece of paper and shoved it at me so hard, it flew up in the air. It was my annulment...approved. "You know better," he chastised me. "Take my advice. Never use this, repent, and become a priest. Now, get out." 2012 I didn't take Monsignor's advice and used the annulment. Twenty-four years later with three adult kids, my second wife divorced me. A year later, I received an annulment in the mail. Two wives. Two annulments. I'm considering going for the record. |
