One party in the Netherlands almost got a law passed to ban the way animals are ritually slaughtered for Halal and Kosher foods.

But the Christian party blocked it because this law would be a breach to the 'freedom to practice religion' law.

Now, I am not some PETA nut but the fact that these large food chains start offering Halal foods means that these ritual slaughters are being done on a large scale, and I do have a problem with that.
