I don't think that's quite true. I'm a nicely put together gal who loves to look nice but I do it on a thrift budget, ebay.... I never watch television, and when I do, it's a few minutes of my husband's "Ancient Aliens" episode. I read voraciously and go online, here, other sites, always learning. To look at me you'd think I was into shallow pursuits, but that's the outside talking and it's deceptive. I wouldn't watch reality tv or buy into that consumer bullshit brainwashing to save my life. There are a few of us out there, OP... you just need to be choosy and be careful. I see some of the women around me, with the exception of my closest friend, falling prey to the reality tv virus and it's disgusting. I really don't get it at all. My husband and I struggle financially, here and there, as many of us do, and I don't need to watch the reality stuff, which is nothing more than a corrupted fantasy of what life could never really be. He does alright by me and I by him, and that's all I need.
