Anonymous Coward User ID: 3218498 United States 01/13/2012 05:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Carryover grain stocks - the amount left in the world's grain elevators when the new harvest begins -now stand at 469 million tonnes, enough to cover 75 days of consumption at current levels. Between 1984 and 2001 grain stocks hovered around the more comfortable level of 100 days. In 2002, however, grain production fell 88 million tonnes short of demand, and since then annual carryover stocks have averaged 72 days of use, close to the bare minimum for basic food security. In 2006, stocks bottomed out at 62 days, setting the stage for the 2007–08 food price spike when international grain prices doubled or tripled in a short amount of time. (from your link) has anyone noticed the price of eggs going up substantially in their local area? i bought 5 dozen eggs at FoodMaxx about two weeks ago, for about 6 dollars. now, the price is around 10 dollars. no idea why, though... |

You know what I mean? Quoting: Stark Faddish or not, it's still the right thing to do when you can't do your own. could be. i'm going to go way out on a limb here (since this is a conspiracy forum) and postulate that the real reason why eggs cost so much these days is that the aliens, not the grays but those other ones, the reptilians from orion, have been using them as an alternate source of food, since the bovines having just signed that binding resolution and treaty with the reptilians are off the market (at least for awhile) and people stopped tasting so good once they lost their souls and became empty vessels. so, until the off world egg farm really gets up and running, which is what is really going on with the moon, in case you were wondering, i guess us humans are just gonna have to pay a bit more. bummer, huh? |

Quoting: Stark any idea why? i've asked around and looked online, but no luck finding any explanation... Feed costs probably have a lot to do with it. They've gone up a lot. A bag that in the past year cost around 11 something is now 16. |

After you build the coop and pen, buy chicks wait forever till they grow up and start laying eggs, then it cost 2-3 times the price of eggs in the store, when you buy commerical feed (at bulk discount rate) and remember the coop and raising chicks isnot figured into the cost. . Farmers raise grain around us. The government pays them not to grow. Many are out of business. |

You have to raise less and let them run free and to get a lot of their food off the land like the locals over here do. High feed prices are the problem. |
