Either the Earth is groaning or the sounds are coming from space. We are so in the dark about these things due to media based science that we might as well believe that ice crystals in the atmosphere cause lightning.
Quoting: wil b wuz I think it's the Earth and the sound is bouncing off the atmosphere. I could go either way on it. I will know better when and if the sounds get louder. If that happens it might mean that the source object is getting closer. In the past, people wrote that the noise was deafening just prior to the thing interacting with us. I can't see a sound this loud coming from the Earth without a corresponding tremor taking place immediately, not some days later.
