Is this not a conspiracy theory site? The russians are about the breach this iced over lake and interestingly we will be bombarded with the material from the huge CME of the 19th. there could be something here. Perhaps the neutrinos that have been iced over for millions of years will mutate from the CME material that will now be able to enter the lake due to the hole the Russians have made. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1378340 United States 01/24/2012 01:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Update! I sent an email to Professor John Priscu at the Department of Land Resources & Environmental Sciences. He wrote one of the articles that I had read about Lake Vostok. Here is my email with his reply: From: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Sent: Friday, January 20, 2012 8:39 PM To: Priscu, John Subject: Lake Vostok What a magnificent lake it is! I have had a keen interest in this lake for a long time. I read your piece on Lake Vostok and wanted to clarify what the procedure will be once they breach Lake Vostok. From what I read they will attempt to breach the lake this week, let it freeze, and then gather samples next year. Is this correct? And also, why are they waiting a year to collect ice samples. Why the wait? How close are they, many articles , but no updates. Your time in this subject and reply is greatly appreciated. Regards, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX His Reply: XXXXX, The Russian program is now making detailed measurements of the borehole and should enter the lake within the next few weeks—they are moving very cautiously, as you may expect. Their borehole measurements will tell them exactly how close to the lake they are—but based on past data, they should be around 20-30 m from the water. You are correct, they plan to let lake water rise up the borehole and freeze in overwinter. They will then go back the following season and take cores of the lake ice that entered the borehole the previous season—they have to wait a year to allow the lake water to freeze. John C. Priscu Professor Department of Land Resources & Environmental Sciences Montana State University Bozeman, MT 59717 U.S.A. The inspection will be conducted pursuant to the Antarctic Treaty of 1959 and its Environmental Protocol. The State Department and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will co-lead the inspection, which is the first joint inspection conducted by either country." I think the US wants a peek at how things may be going in Vostok. This is the first time they have done this and coupled with the fact that the Russians are going to breach the lake very soon. Not a coincidence. I've read some very scary scenario's...if there is more pressure than they handle once they breach Vostok. |

LOL, now this is getting very interesting. Where Hillary goes, corruption, screwups, violations, depravity, theft, destruction and things that completely outrage all of humanity are sure to be found. Which means of course, that they've already broken through the ice, taken samples, violated everything possible to violate, insulted and ravaged some ETs, gotten into several firefights, had their asses blown away, pissed off a Galactic entourage, polluted the lake, and brought humanity to the brink of interstellar war. And now the idiot is part of a joint mission to try to smooth things over before humanity gets vaporized. In other word, the usual. |
