Re: Would the BIBLE Survive 2012 and beyond
The truth is coming out too fast now for it to really stand a chance.

You have priests coming out saying it's a lie

You have a Vatican translator coming out saying the bible is a lie

The Shape of the Vatican symbolises them knowing Catholicism comes to an end this year.

They believe that this current Pope will be the last.

They KNOW it is coming to an end but at least they have a few hundred billion in Gold etc to keep them in retirement. I'm sure glad there is no suffering in the World where that money could go!

These are facinating statements, tell me more if you can!

Sorry, I was side-tracked on a different thread and video. Here are the links...

This next one I've seen a number of other videos talking of the same thing but it was a while ago and my history log doesn't go back that far.

I have a 2 questions to ask, who in the heck is Mauro Biglino and what is the Stalingrad Codex? My specialty is late Antiquity and early Christianity, and I have never heard of such a book. If they are referring to the Codex Petropolitanus (formerly Codex Leningradensis) then they are full of crap. CP is the oldest complete Masoretic text, but it has been translated many times and I have never seen one by Mr. Biglino. I also call attention to the claim he makes that he has made a literal translation, a literal translation from Hebrew into Italian or English or German is impossible because of the differences in the syntax of the languages, ALL TRANSLATIONS ARE INTERPRETATIONS! otherwise they will make no sense.

The answer is no. The bible as we hold in our hands today is not the bible that was first written. The one we hold now will not survive, the original will. Blessings Drendwire

Re: Would the BIBLE Survive 2012 and beyond
When it comes to the bible(s)[plural], It is not short of follower's and believers. This we can all agree on.

Now bare with me on this- [cringing] Lets take some versus that I will choose myself. Here they are:

John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 8:24 - "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."

John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one."

Couple more:

Matt. 14:33 - "And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God’s Son!"

Joel 2:32 - "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call."

Now the bible is written by primitive men. Rather or not by the grace of sky bully..oops sorry guys..i mean God is up for debate. But not here, Not this time. What i would like to point out is this-

Lets take "John Sand Cheeks", "Matt Desert Dweller", and "Joel Doesn't Bath" [first, middle, and last names] And we will say John, Matt, and Joel are in their 30's and seemingly "normal" for the country they live in [country isn't important right now] and the year is 2012.

If they started saying the things that the orignal john, matt and joel did back in PRIMITIVE days.. WOULD YOU OR WOULDN'T YOU BELIEVE THEM?
Before YOU answer please consider the times we live in today. And please account for the reports of "rare" occurences that get reported and simply LAUGHED AT.
~UFO sighting
~UFO abduction reports and stories
~ghosts, spirits, and demon sightings and hauntings
~Bigfoot sightings
~Sumarian tablet findings
~many many others that I don't have time to list.
-----you get MY point------

Would the bible stand up against the PEOPLE of 2012 and beyond? Would you believe these men with the same bible stories of today? My opinion is NO.

kiss me Thanks in advance !
 Quoting: Aiyanna

Since the Old Testament alone was written over a period of roughly 400 years these would be some Old Dudes.

However the Miracles of the Bible are a little hard to get around. If I had watched, the Parting of the Red Sea or the Pillar of fire, I'd believe, If I'd watched the parting of the Jordon River when flooding, I'd believe. If I'd witnessed the Walls of Jericho fall. I'd believe. Just to name a few things. Remembering that upward of a million people took part in these events.
If I had walked with Jesus and watched Him either, calm the Seas, Raise the Dead, Heal the Sick, cast out demons or walk on water or any of His miracles, I'd believe. If I saw him Die on the Cross and met Him in his risen body, I'd join Doubting Thomas and Believe.
If I had watched His Apostles Raise the Dead, Heal the Sick Cast out Demons and be faithful unto Death, just to name a few things, I'd believe.
If I had a close friend or family member that saw these things. I'd Believe.
Instead, On top of the Bible itself; I have billions of people over a period of almost 3,000 years that have believed, Other Historical accounts and artifacts that verify various parts of the Bible, there is knowledge in the Bible that Science has confirmed as Fact, it only took them 1,000+ years to verify it, Then, there is the personal relationship with Jesus, So yes I would believe.

None of those other things, have anywhere near the sheer volume of Proof that the Bible does, yet people believe in them.

Can you read this without adding words and letters? This is what you wrote transcribed into an approximation of how English would be if a Semitic language. This is why he is full of crap. As I said, no translation is literal, you have to interpret it to make the core concepts intelligible in another, unrelated, language.

Absolutely.

Many of the stories contained in the Bible teach us not only about the history of past events, but also the evolution of Man's spirituality. Not to mention, many of the stories give relevant insight into how to deal with problems that still affect Man today.

Sure the book contains a number of translation flaws and author interjections, but the stories written centuries ago still help many on their journey towards understanding the Divine and, thus, ourselves.

I think you are a little backwards here..I AM taking responsiblity for my own deeds~> rather then looking to a MAN written book on where my actions and responsibilities are "found". if you think we are not primitive people you are mistaken.

Yes!! spread that fear love, spread it proud!!
 Quoting: Aiyanna

Is giving a warning of an approaching tornado spreading fear? I am a historian, and through my studies I know exactly what people, even "good" people, are capable of.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9304265

Physical pain and endangerment is instinctual. Running around poking your fearful beliefs because someone has different veiws other then your scriptual mess is internally damaging! both spiritually and mentally. If you had a child and you taught them to fear things based off of things that are physically endangering its called survival. But if you taught your child to be afraid of the water based on the fact of a sea monster of an old superstition told generations ago and has yet to be SEEN is just emitting FEAR.
 Quoting: Aiyanna

What fearful beliefs are you talking about? I am asking this because I really have no idea what you are referring to.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9304265

I'm refering to the difference of warning of an on-coming tornado..compared to bible fear spread by supersitions..you must understand some people "pro" fear rather then using the bible or the concept of god as a "spiritual growth"..those on a spiritual path with the knowledge of god are they doing it because the fear has lead them down that path. or are they doing it because they believe whole-heartly what the word of god was trying to teach and say. It's hard for some to be on that path when their is so much things jumping out of the shadow's (aka "your going to hell") (you better repent now bc MY religion says your all doomed) etc..

Perhaps there is a religion that just ignores all these "fearful" warnings in the Bible...

Jer 18:
7At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

8If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

Rev 16:
9And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Oh wait-

Doesn't that remind you of Joel Osteen's message?

Daily the bible will survive less. tounge

With the increasing spirituality of the people, the religious communities are condemned to death. Everybody will know that God is in itself and dogmas and laws of religious communities become obsolete. Only by independent thinking and action you can serve the creator.
