Here's an idea: If you REALLY want to put the hurt on these conglomerates like the RIAA, MPAA, and the big software companies who think they should have all the rights and you get the shaft: STOP.

Stop buying in to the Hollywood hype. Stop buying the music, stop going to movies, stop buying DVDs, blu-rays, and expensive software packages. There are lots of alternatives out there.

Software, that's actually the easiest. There are literally HUNDREDS of open-source/freeware software packages and Operating systems. For beginners, the linux flavors of Ubuntu and Mint are excellent starter packages. You can find lots of open-source software at places like sourceforge.com, a majority of which will meet or exceed all your computing needs. There are software packages like OpenOffice.org which are just as good OR BETTER than the Microsoft Office.

Music, you can listen to your radio, I have a lifetime Sirius/XM subscription.

Hit them in their pocketsbooks, and they'll get rid of the draconian laws that suppress the PEOPLE.

It won't stop pirating what so ever. It will only end up hurting the common sites and the regular internet users. Usenet and torrent sites will still continue to pop up and those with the know how will still be getting whatever it is they are out to get. ixquick is great, duckduckgo is also fantastic.
