How are you going to combat racism if you signal out one group as being ignorant, privileged and/or the inherent oppressors? It will only add fuel to the fire and enforce racism as it will cause white people who feel attacked by this to adopt a more aggressive attitude towards blacks in reaction to it. >Liberal Logic Liberalism is truly a mental disorder |

You think it was easy for whites to go to America and erect a nation such as your where people can nowadays sit on their asses and bitch about shit? oh right! because America was made by the 5% of Slaves a few rich folks had, right? WRONG! Go read your history, whites did their part and minorities are a bit too prone to bitch. Maybe they want to go back to Africa or their third world countries? I didnt think so. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1015009 You must be one of those "comfortable" racists. You go. I'm not racist. I hate every entitled SOB equally regardless of color. Especially the ones who discrimnate against me telling me how privelaged I am when they get all kinds of free government perks that I don't qualify for. Or telling me when I work my ass off for something, studying, testing well, manual labor, long hours etc, that they didn't get it because between their video gaming, hanging out at the mall, doing drugs or watching reality tv that I am more privelaged than they are. I'm not racist. I hate every whinning idiot equally. |
Psych User ID: 903456 Netherlands 01/28/2012 07:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, it seems that there is never a need for multiculturalism when the "minorities" are in the majority. Quoting: Stocking Eats Cake Gotta step in here for a moment. Here in the Netherlands we see that in the big cities which are much more diverse than some of the smaller cities and villages, there are hardly any racists. The racists in our country are (maybe surprisingly) exactly there where there are hardly any foreigners. I am certain you misread the point I was trying to make. "Africa for the Africans, Asia for the Asians, Europe for everybody!" essentially was what I was commenting on. Well, that's true. That is not what I took from your comment. I misunderstood that. My apologies. I actually agreed with what I thought you meant and tried to substantiate that because that specific sentence I quoted is true. My point remains valid nonetheless. Education on multiculturalism or racism is unnecessary in more diverse societies as they are much more adjusted to the situation, much more tolerant towards each other. Racism is usually found exactly there where foreigners are the minority. So these types of billboards (even though I don't agree with the approach) would be more appropriate especially there where foreigners are the minority and not being accepted. Overall, I don't think there is anything wrong with confronting ignorant people. And to comment on your last comment. You would be able to move anywhere you like on this planet if you wanted to, except for Africa at this point, simply because it is highly unstable. Asia is not for Asians only, neither does this apply to America (north and south), the Middle East, or any other place. Emigrants choose Europe for geographical and economic reasons. |

It used to be that when someone said racism, people's head turned and they paid attention. Not so anymore. It's become so played out and thrown around in every argument by liberals and minorities that instead of heads turning, eyes are rolling. It's backfiring and it's about damn time too. The only thing it is doing now is beginning a feeling of mass resentment towards minorities who use the word constantly and a lot of white people are rightfully starting to call bullshit and end the conversation with a much deserved stfu. |

Psych User ID: 903456 Netherlands 01/28/2012 07:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Gotta step in here for a moment. Here in the Netherlands we see that in the big cities which are much more diverse than some of the smaller cities and villages, there are hardly any racists. The racists in our country are (maybe surprisingly) exactly there where there are hardly any foreigners. Quoting: Psych i think that's natural. People in cities have much more distractions and are busier with running their own lives to care about everyone else who is doing the same in the same city. Too many people. In the more rural areas, they still know their neighbors. The biggest reason why people enjoy rural areas is the sense of community. The small town people are more aware of the changes to their environment. That could be why they seem more racist. Maybe they are just more protective. It could be that they see what happens in the cities and want to part of it to spread to their small community. I think personally think multiculturalism and a lot of liberalism is being used to destroy the once-powerful white race, to give everyone an equal opportunity to be a slave. Our communities are of no concern. I used to be against racism, now I think its to the point where the pendulum must swing back the other way a bit so that society can find a balance. If people want to be racist, then I don't care. If someone wants to call me a cracker, I don't care. I will no longer stand up for the weak because they've been too many have been given too much and think they've earned it. There is definitely truth to some of the things you say. People in smaller cities and villages are much more conservative, reluctant to change. The thing is though, that diversification is not per se a bad thing. It's has to do with the fear of the ol' familiar comfort zone being threatened. Change is scary for many people. Personally, I enjoy talking to people with different backgrounds. I think it's interesting. I work for a multinational company and I love it. But I am also pretty much where you are at. I don't care much about racism, even though I think it's ignorant. I usually don't feel the need to jump on topics like this either. This was pretty much an exemption because I like the OP. If someone would call me a cracker (which never happened to me in my life) I would laugh too. Also, if I would run into a billboard like the one in the video, I wouldn't even pay attention to it because I don't think it applies to me. People who are getting worked up over this might. But regardless of us meddling in or not, lets not kid ourselves over here. Racism does still exist and minorities are quite often disadvantaged. Last Edited by Psych on 01/28/2012 07:46 PM |
