All right. The reason why time seems to speed up as we get older is because of the frame-rate of our brains. When we are young, the camera is rolling very quickly, the brain has a lot of free space, so it takes lots of pictures. Time seems to be expansive because of our high frame rate. Kids think summers are endless.

As we get older, the frame rate slows down. Less free space in our brains, less unoccupied RAM. Days seem to start flying on by, because we aren't taking as many pictures per second as we used to.

When we perceive ourselves in danger, and adrenalin hits, the frame rate goes to insane levels as a survival mechanism. Time seems to slow down because our brains are taking many more pictures per second than usual, trying to gather as much information as possible as quickly as possible.

As near as I can tell, this is an original idea that once occurred to me some years ago. Never really did anything WITH it, but there you go.

Not a bad idea, it's similar to my thinking that time gets faster because it's just a certain mathematical percentage. When you're 1 turning 2, that's half of your life. When you're 50 turning 51, well that's just 1/50th of your life.
