You have a strong case, and I suggest bankrupting them, attaching tracking devices (or god knows what) to your child is illegal without your written permission.

Is your child special or unusual in any way, like for instance is he extremely intelligent, a trouble maker, or a special needs child? You don't have to answer if my question is to invasive, but I have an idea and if you would answer I might be able to tell you what specifically is going on and why.

He does have good grades, A's and B's, he's not a genius however.

Not only is it brazen but it's unethical and possibly illegal. In order to use a minor in a study, the researchers must get informed consent from the parents and assent of the child.

A's and B's are good grades. I got c's from time to time and my IQ is @ 160. Have you seen his IQ scores? It is not always easy to identify a genius, my parent knew I was smart but never suspected i was gifted until i was tested. How old is he and have you seen his IQ results?

Also, does he seem to have any special gift of perception>? For instance does he question what he hears on tv and in school, or from other authority figure?

there are two issues at hand here. For one, there's is the issue of what the device it, what it's monitoring, what it's recording, who is accessing the information and what those people are doing with the data. For another, you have the issue of someone monitoring your child (and possibly you) without your consent. I think many people here are getting caught up on one or the other, as opposed to recognizing all of the issues at hand.

personally, I'm with the people who would have at least called to talk to the school to get the information first hand. It's possible that your son forgot "minor" details about the device that you would find very interesting. You would also be able to carry on a conversation about the device because you would be able to figure out which questions to ask as you went along. After you find out the info, I personally would express my dissatisfaction with the fact that they didn't find it necessary to seek your permission for use of your child.

Then decide what to do with the device and with the information you've gathered.

It is waterproof undoubtedly since it is applied to the shoe, and probably resistant to heat. But if it's got micro circuitry in it (and it does), a microwave oven will fry it. Just be sure to put a cup of water in there with it or your microwave will be damaged.

It's also a social conditioning tool.

Alright...the school says they have nothing to do with it.
They said it is being done through his tribe.

The tribe says it's a study being conducted by the government because of a grant the tribe has applied for, for the school and that's why they were put on them at school.

I would be so pissed, I couldn't see straight. There would be no way I would allow that to continue or trust that school with my child ever again.

I can't believe any red blooded American would tolerate someone other than themselves monitoring there own children. Have we forgotten how many teachers are perverts nowadays? Also if you want to make a case and go public with this you should get a good journalist on your side because I imagine this is happening elsewhere.

SHould find out what the name of the grant is, etc.
