Decent men (whether they are attracted to women or men) would never dream of forcing their penis into another man's rectum. The idea that, in a prison environment, men violate other inmates because of sexual urges is ridiculous.

Studies have shown that 25% of the prison population are sociopaths. These are the deviants who will force themselves onto others, mostly for power trips but also to release their sexual urges. If the prison population has the same mix as the outside population, less than 10% of inmates are homosexual. Sociopathy is the key; violence against others has nothing to do with homosexuality.

No studies have been done but most suspect that the private prison system harbors a huge number of sociopaths in its ranks, especially at the high levels (warden). This explains why no efforts are being made to stop the rapes/assaults on the 75% of inmates who are normal people who broke the law.
