Everything that mankind has attemped to manipulate has led to the state that the world is in now. Why would I want to let mankind manipulate what was ultimately created by a far greater intellect?

A 3 year old with a loaded shotgun comes to mind when I consider the possibilities.

This greater intellect that you talk about, does it forbid humans from learning new things about the world around us applying their knowledge? Is it even possible to go against the will of this greater intellect?
It might be easy for you to say that we don't need new technology. You should ask the thousands and thousands of people dying every day from hunger and disease. The reason that the world is in the state it is nowadays is because of humans, not the tools and technology they use. Yes the capacity for damage has increased with technology but so has the capacity for good.
Maybe it will take this whole generation to die off before the fears and anxieties about new and radical changes in our life due to science are removed.

Reading this you have to stop and Wonder... just how imbedded are the US and Isreal with each other.

And the US is building up Bases around Iran while Isreal wants War..

What we need is a worldwide EMP to kick us back to 1880 for a while.

Please this is old news the Russians came up with bioborgs a long time a go to help seal Chernobyl, there called human beings.

Imagine the uses for the blind, mentally and physically disabled, wounded soldiers, accident victims.

Any technology can be used for ill intent, does not mean it HAS to be though.

Why can most here only see the negative, always, in every single little thing?

I agree, I am so waiting for this.
What would the world do with kids that might have to learn kick the can for fun again.
Men & women would have to garden and learn how to put up foods (can) them properly.
No more noise from cars and boom boxes or airplanes in the sky.
Old fashioned parties and festivals.
Everyone gets a horse for transportation, a goat for milk and a few chickens for eggs!
Dig and build an outhouse.
Lug water from wells or nearest lakes.

The only thing I would hate to give up is air conditioning but that's due to asthma. Even if my asthma killed me I would enjoy even just a few weeks of the 1800 just to see all these modern people have to cope.

I have no problem with technology. The problem arises when that technology is wielded in a fashion detrimental to mankind. Currently, technology is driven by whatever makes a profit. There is no profit in actually curing a desease. There is profit in prolonging and treating the symptoms. Same goes for warfare. Same goes for ignorance.

FFS, this just keeps getting better.

I might be interested if it will improve my abilities.
