My father is a freemason. He won't tell me anything, aside from little tidbits here and there. He likes to drop hints. From what I gathered, its nothing sinister or evil though. They do enjoy the benefits of such a large network though, he has stated that. So... let your mind wonder (well, without getting all crazy/paranoid). What benefits could such a large network of men, many established well within their careers and industry, have?
The absolute most I ever got from him; when you're called in for a favor, you have no choice. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, what the weather is like, or if you are opposed to the favor. When you're in debt, they own dat azz.
Really guys, its a good thing 8) Stop worrying so much. I can state, I wish we had more networks like the freemasons. It would be even better if we could be forthright about such networks, without fear of breaking any laws. The concept is progressive, socially reinforcing, and brings out the best of the group.
