Today was our appointment to get him a Psych Eval. With the schools encouragement, I pushed for something to slow him down. They prescribed him with 5mg dextromethanphetamine. They instructed me to cut the pills in half, and start there. I came home at around 1 today, I figured I would take one half for a test drive for the rest of the day and see how he reacts to it.. Quoting: Rastifar143 Since then, he has rearranged the furniture, lost about 4 of his tops <beyblades> and is now playing his guitar, AND drums at the same time. Right now he is holding them both standing here and asking me if I want to make some music.. Is this normal ? wow, their qualified to do that nowadays? |

Is this normal ? by the way, did you happen to notice that the drug had mention of "methamphetamine" in the name? do you know what this is? |

Once I got through the evaluation, I walked out with the prescription.. Adding, the pharmacist walked out, I showed my Id and he handed the script personally. Im really not liking this.. Wish I could home school. But I have to have my home that I pay for first. Last Edited by Rastifar143 on 02/14/2012 04:52 PM |

Schools are trying any way they can to make it easier on them and drugging your child is the fastest way to do it...it is very easy to get a script for ADD drugs..all you have to do is visit your doctor and fill out a questionnaire and that's all there is to it..:( |

I get that. |

aBiNoRmAl User ID: 6853650 ![]() 02/14/2012 05:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is a scary thing..As long as you control the meds, it should be ok..on a different downside, coming off that stuff is not good. You have zero energy, no focus, no get up and go..it changes your body to where you do start to become dependent on it..I always skipped a couple days a week to delay the tolerance level..It changed my life, tho..I was organized, motivated, focused..I lost weight. I did not abuse it, tho..My insurance all of a sudden decided not to cover it and I cannot afford the almost $300 a month for it and there was no warning..It was very rough and I did not realize how much it did for me until I did not have it anymore..If you really need it, it is not like speed. If you do not need it, it hypes you up. Good luck, I know it is a tough spot, with the school all over you, but, in the end, they cannot force you to do this..do research..there are a LOT of side effects, especially to the heart. I feel for you. |
