Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1037013 Printing money would be gone overnight and demand for dollars would dry up. The US has more oil than we can handle. some guy on CNBC claimed this morning that the USA has been exporting and has not enough refining capacity. so even with falling demand, the price will go up. |

Yes this is very true , so did you ever ask why we never start drilling for it? It is because our dollars would be brought back here when the FED prints trillions more and inflation would be through the roof! We need the world to buy our dollars not our oil. |

nexuseditor User ID: 10354408 Australia 02/17/2012 12:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is not the first time Iran has threatened this action, but it might be the first time that they actually DO it. If so, this is HUGE. Consider, when Saddam Hussein declared Iraq would no longer accept dollars for oil, it was not long before they bombed the crap out of him and replaced him with somebody who did not dare such heresy. The most recent nation to stop selling oil in US dollars was Libya - who was going to demand payment in gold-back 'dinars' (a new single African currency made from gold). This move alone was HUGE enough for French President Sarkozy to declare Libya as a threat to the financial security of the world. So, suddenly they bombed the crap out of Libya - and end of problem. If Iran proceeds to sell its oil in other currencies, then the USA will either collapse or go to full-scale war. There are not many other choices. Last Edited by I LOVE PENIS on 02/17/2012 12:31 AM |

Cassandra's Echo User ID: 10639450 United States 02/17/2012 01:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can someone clear this up for me? I thought that Iran established an oil bourse that essentially stopped allowing the sale of oil for dollars back in December 2007: [link to en.wikipedia.org] But in the same article (above), March 20, 2012 is given as the date that Iran's bourse will stop accepting dollar-denominated payment. So what actually happened in December 2007? Since Iraq and Libya were clearly throttled mercilessly for making similar efforts, I have to believe that Iran is currently STILL accepting dollars - until March 20. Otherwise, bullets would be flying now. But does anyone have any idea what the December 2007 date in the wiki article above refers to?? |

While there is alot of blustering on all sides, both China and Russia will sit quietly by as Iran gets bombed. USA/Russia/China are destroying the middle east using Israel as the foil to make a region that will supply oil cheaply and freely amongst all the superpowers. |

Possum User ID: 10957037 Australia 02/17/2012 03:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | March 20, the day of the labyrinth highly symbolic day, when considered as the last day of winter and the end of the astrological year Tarot Meaning the judgment or awakening which urges leaving material aspects behind and seeking a higher spirituality. the card, depicting an angel blowing a trumpet, signifies that a new day, a day of accountability, is dawning. it is a card which moves us beyond our ego and allows us to glimpse the infinite. Pisces - The Myth The two fish, swimming in opposite directions, are considered to represent two different aspects of the human psyche, co-existing as best they can in the ocean of life. One fish is our 'spiritual' persona - the part of us that is beyond time and space. The other is our need to be a part of the material world. Quoting: ^àTOn^ That would suit Asian clients - from BRICS members India and China to US allies Japan and South Korea, not to mention NATO member Turkey. But that would also suit European clients, to pay for oil in their own currency. Tehran - as well as many key players in the developing world - does want to sink the petrodollar."
