Anonymous Coward User ID: 1283316 Canada 02/17/2012 09:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | GOOOOOOOOOD. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10963015 Next... scrap laws banning machine guns. I want a goddamn AK-47! Fuck that. I can live without a stupid assault rifle. The next step here is that we need to relax the bullshit "safe storage" laws and get some sort of "castle doctrine" formally recognized in law. Theres a guy in my province who was attacked by masked men throwing molotov cocktails at his house, while yelling "are you ready do die?" He fetched a legally-owned handgun from his safe and fired some warning shots to scare them off, then called the police. He was charged with a bunch of things and most charges were dropped but he is still on trial for "unsafe storage of a firearm" as a result. He will eventually get off, but the damn police and prosecutor are using the legal process as the punishment. Thousands of dollars in legal fees and many days of wasted time, all for nothing. |

I want a goddamn AK-47! Just fill out the form for a restricted weapons permit. BOOM, you can have an AK-47! Easy peezy lemon squeezey! Not quite. The AK is prohibited, but you could get an AR, however it is still in the "restricted" class. The problem with "restricted" weapons is that they are just that: restricted. They can only be discharged on a bona fide firing range (gun club, not your back yard no matter how rural), you need a special permit that only allows you to transport the weapon from your home to the club (the addresses of both places are on the permit). Magazine capacity is also limited to five rounds for restricted rifles. To me there is just no point. Just get the regular firearms license and buy an SKS. Those are non-restricted and you can transport and fire them almost anywhere you want. There are also some cool bolt actions (i.e Ruger Gunsite Scout, 10 round .308) that I would take over a crummy Russian or Chinese POS any day. |

How stupid are those people? I'd like to agree with you, but then we would both be wrong. To get ahead in life, you have to learn to saddle your own horse. |

What happens as a result is lazy incompetant unskilled un-qualified 'tards' performing civil service jobs. |

IMO people throwing molotovs at your house are trying to kill you, i dont think id have fired warning shots if i was in his position. What was he meant to do, let them burn his house down and beat the shit out of him when he ran out because his house was on fire? He could have had children in the house or anything, why didnt the police turn up and kick the shit out of dudes throwing petrol bombs at somebodies house? |

You can buy a CZ-858 semi-auto for $650(Czechoslovakian infantry weapon of Warsaw pact days). It's non restricted, looks almost the same as an AK on the outside, but it is more accurate. Of course the reason people want AK's is the simple elegance of it's firing mechanism. The CZ is nothing like that. |

The problem is the ammuntion was made by communists who didn't give a phuck so some of the bullets get stuck cause their of poor quality. |
