I clearly remember white SA's whingeing that there would be a bloodbath just before Mandela came into power. A bunch fled, fearing white privilege would be removed in a nanosecond. Now, 17/18 years on, the big white fear is that war will erupt when Mandela dies...

Here's the exact same response post I placed under the Afrikaans Genocide thread. I see shill-handlers have issued their shills the 'SA white threat' as part of their numerous GLP themes of the week!

Trying to convince the rest of the world that racism in reverse against the minority of whites is currently where its at in SA is a blatant lie. I see you've conveniently left out how millions of black/coloured/indian folk were violently removed from their homes and families during apartheid to 'fall' out of windows in white police custody (those lucky enough not to be tortured too much), how many were rounded up like cattle and shot and dumped in mass annonymous graves, how so many were beaten,tortured and shot to death on farms by their white boss. And how millions of coloured/black family members still do not know and have not been given info for closure as to where the remains of their loved ones are to this day!

By the way, farm life here continues to be a slow, poisonous death for the majority of black/coloured farm workers. Whites on farms automatically become supervisors/managers. Many farmers(still mostly white and afrikaans) continue to pay their black/coloured labourers an exploitative pittance and use the so-called outlawed 'dop' system to control them. Meaning, a tiny cash salary and a lot of alcohol so they continue passing on the alcohol-dependent and subdued slave mentality for the next few generations also.

And FYI, in the cities apart from the laughably small % of black/coloured CEO's considering their huge population groups (I've researched this...decades on and most CEO's STILL remain white and afrikaners at the top of SA's economic and decision-making food chain!) ,the employment the rest of black/coloured SA enjoy are as menial labourers in trade, factories or hospitality. Apart from the many being employed as house servants and gardeners to...you've guessed it...their majority white employers!! Whites in general do not do this type of work! And the majority of the few million whites still do employ servants to clean their homes. Again, often for money that is offered well below the minimim wage requirements.

This was the EXACT same scenario I grew up with in the 70's. So I look around daily and ask: what's changed between now and then? Currently, we have one of the most liberated and enviable constitutions in the world. On paper, that is.

What still stuns me is that instead of being encouraged to war against the white minority en masse which would have been perceived as justifiable by the violated majority, it was the wisdom of what can only be described as the very advanced souls of people like Steve Biko, Oliver Tambo, Robert Sibukwe, Nelson Mandela, Govan Mbeki and others that held the majority of black/coloureds back from a complete bloodbath in this country. Their collective influence was/is a true miracle for which I give thanks.

Oh, btw, I am white and have also been affected by black economic empowerment (in the way that blacks,coloureds and indians were for centuries. And actually still are-just not written into law anymore!)
But I suppose here's the most telling difference between us: I choose NOT to feel like a victim, walk around with a chip on my shoulder or feel resentment towards black/coloured folk who have 'made it' materially in the way that most whites live. Nor do I demonstrate hatred for other white folk in SA who choose to open their hearts to the healing of this divided nation or treat others races as equals. Yes, despite the glaring issues of rampant murder and corruption in this land.
And, by far the majority of the few million whites in SA would perceive me as 'traitorous'for my views, call me a white racist or spew forth all manner of projections that are all about their own inability to move forward from a past of huge privilege and control over a majority.

So that in itself would tell you quite a lot about the current state of this nation of divisions.
Yes, apartheid style racism is alive and well in SA in 2012, albeit slightly more covert these days!

Bump old threads to keep SA in the public eye. Whites are definitely endangered there. Hatred of Whites is an epidemic.

It's all how you look at it I guess... if you feel nauseous when you see your parents and your sister raped, beaten, and shot, I suppose you are probably a sissy...

Dude, that's not what I meant at all and you probably know that. It was a bit of silly jest in the face of strong adversary...a bit of South African "black" humour if you would pardon the pun.
It isn't nearly as chaotically violent over here as what is being portrayed. If you keep your wits about and you keep to the safer areas, you should be fine. There are more dangerous areas than in most other countries, but South Africa is probably still the safest place in Africa for a white, or any other man. My heart bleeds for farmers in the rural areas and farm murders and violent crimes are a big problem that should be addressed, but we are far from total anarchy and genocide...those in our country who wants to eradicate the white man, are a very small minority and would be totally annihilated if they should ever try a full on assault.

I gzt that things might be less serious than they are portrayed, but you do give a clue when you say "keep to the safer areas, you should be fine", and "farm murders" showing murders of white farmers are obviously a "thing"....

The situation is far from normal, but there is nowhere to go...we'll just have to tough it out here...try our best to improve things.
