An example from 2004. DIMONA, Israel (AP) - Israeli soldiers began distributing radiation sickness pills Sunday in towns near one of Israel's two nuclear reactors, as a precautionary measure in case of radioactive leaks. Security officials said the tablets have long been held in storage for distribution in case of emergency, but after two years of talks with Israel's Atomic Energy Commission, the Cabinet recently decided that those in risk areas should have the pills at home, to cut down on reaction time in the event of an accident. Distribution began Sunday in Dimona, where one reactor is located, and in other nearby towns and villages in southern Israel's Negev desert, a military statement said. Security officials said a further round was planned at a later date for the area near the Nahal Sorek plant, southwest of Jerusalem. Dimona resident Tali Peretz told Israel Army Radio the distribution should have been ordered years ago. [link to www.his-forever.com] |

Therefore nothing is being done here. I'm personally worried about the frequent leaks we keep hearing when residents are being told to take iodine and stuff. What about us in Egypt? And yes, Gaza and Jordan are also at risk obviously. |

The Arab League plans to pass a draft decision calling on Israel to join the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty during the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference to be held in Vienna, Austria in September. A statement issued by the Arab League council after an urgent meeting of permanent members on Tuesday said the council assigned delegates in Vienna to drum up the required support for the proposal. The statement also called for intensifying meetings with political powers. The council has asked Arab foreign ministers and the league's secretary general, along with member countries of the IAEA, to bring the issue up during meetings with foreign policy leaders in their home countries. Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 11341837 Egypt 02/27/2012 08:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You know...for the sake of the poor Israeli's working at Dimona or living nearby, this should really not be so ignored. Sadly it is, just like their uprisings and demonstrations are. The only thing making the MSM is Hamas, Palestinians when they fight back (terrorism as they call it) or Iran. When in the world will the Israeli's be heard? |

I guess you don't give a shit if they're being poisoned and killed by their own government, but oy vey, if the rockets lands in the desert making a little hole we gotta go to a Holy War. Hipocrites all of you! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11341837 Good question. Obviously the Israel Firsters don't give a shit if the Israelis they supposedly love are getting poisoned with radiation by their own government. And the Israelis themselves obviously don't care either. Maybe they think they're immune from it. They're not. |

True about Israel Firsters, they don't give a shit about the people there, only about the "IDEA" of Israel and their "right to exist" and all this shit they keep saying. But the fact that israelis are demonstrating the settlements, against Bibi's policies, that they want a peace treaty with Palestine and end the gaza blockade, that is NEVER reported. And the fact they're suffering radiation poisoning from the nuclear weapons program, nobody cares even less. But hey, they scream about Iran making legal power plants under supervision of IAEA. I'm so sick of it, and so are 80% of Israelis. How come nobody hears them? Oh right, its not about the israelis, its about the "land".... |
