According Wikipedia there are two types of nuclear fission:

One type, discovered by German physicist Otto Hahn, 1938, produces pure energy (in the shape of steam) at nuclear power plants under moderated conditions.

Another, very nasty type producing destruction, invented by an American clown under military secrecy 1942/5 is the following: Until destruction is desired, it is kept subcritical - in the case of a uranium bomb, it is achieved by keeping the fuel in a number of separate pieces, each below the critical size. No fission occurs! To produce destruction, the pieces of uranium are brought together rapidly - to become critical - to drive the instantaneous explosion FLASH of the nuclear weapon into the atmosphere. It lasts some nanoseconds and vaporizes and radiates innocent people that happen to be in the way.

The second, nasty type fission is pure pseudoscience to scare you and a BIG JOKE. Evidently bringing two separate subcritical pieces of uranium in contact with each other does not produce one solid piece with a critical mass that suddenly detonates. Two metal pieces cannot become one by compressing them together ... and even if they can, they will not detonate.

Nuclear weapons are real. We know that because of the massive amount of nuclear radiation that occurs when a nuclear bomb drops that leaves the area lifeless for thousands of years just like Chernobyl is. Visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they are completely void of life.

If it was something like a massive bomb made of hundreds of thousands of sticks of dynamite it would just make a massive explosion and kill thousands of people and they could rebuild the cities on the same spot and today there would be beautiful cities full of healthy people, with no evidence of any highly radioactive nuclear explosions in the past.

I'm literally a molecular biologist and biochemist who worked with virus for several projects in college, and I've actually had the privilege of LOOKING at viral capsid under an electron microscope. How can something right in front of my face not be real? How can something that "doesn't exist" allow me to demonstrably alter the plasmid of a bacterium, or identify cryptic species of fruit fly based on viral genes that jumped from a host plant? I know better than anyone that modern science has indeed become a shitshow of unreplicated experiments, corporation-directed data manipulation, dogmatic theories that refuse to make way for better ones, labeling entire fields of research taboo, and outright scientific fraud, but this doesn't invalidate EVERY scientific discovery! Some of these "alternative science" groups make really cogent points and have great insights into problems with the scientific establishment, but they end up taking circumstantial evidence, speculation, and their paranoia of institutional academia to absurd conclusions.

FYI, here are some scientific theories that the mainstream denies or covers up, but are actually supported by evidence: the earth is actually hollow and non-euclidean, not flat.
