True, but everyone asks what kind of weapon should they get. I want to know what GLP would like to put on one. AK's are very modifiable when it comes to furniture and accessories.

Mount a Desert Eagle to the side of it and a flamethrower tube to the underside.

Sounds heavy, cool but heavy. This is my SHTF weapon.

I would put a synthetic stock on it with a foregrip and single point sling. No sense in changing out the internals. Maybe put some optics on it and you will have a sweet zombie killer.

you can easily go through a thousand rounds per day per defender if actively being probed by invaders.
It's not target shooting, it's not one sided or calm, safe shooting, you need volume of rounds downrange to push back with while they pepper you from all sides, and the first round that hits you is game over.

Yes that is very true, however you can only carry so much ammo. I have enough to load each mag twice plus enough left over for practice. Ammo is easy for me to get if I feel I need more.

I've used the Ultimak mount with EOTechs and Vortex red dot sights. It works really well. I prefer EOTech sights - it's more like looking through a window (instead of a tube) and the reticle is easier to pick up than just a lone dot.

A lot of people prefer the Aimpoint H1/T1 sight. It's small and you can mount it low. It also has a really long battery life.

I'm not sure if you have a flash suppressor - if you don't, the AK74 style and the Noveske KX-3 work well.

Make sure you pick the correct thread orientation and pitch. Most AK47's are 14x1 Left-Hand.
