"these people should occupy themselves" Great point!, I do agree to an extent however I think were moving into massive civil unrest now and we don't have time to criticize people who are trying to make a "better world", they are our fellow humans and although many will perish, we do not need to assist in that process by ridiculing them. and i don't buy that the tents or the material of the movement as a whole would have any significant impact or the wealth of large corporations, the money they make is abstractly and materialistically above this reality and mostly a product of an esoteric legal system that is to a large degree disconnected from the market itself. Its a terribly exciting time to be living!

THREE JUVENILES accused of assaulting a cabdriver and his passenger in Center City Saturday night while shouting racial slurs will not be charged with a hate crime, the District Attorney's Office said yesterday.

The teens, who are black, were not charged with hate crimes because there was no evidence that the assault had been motivated by the race of the victims, who are white, said Tasha Jamerson, D.A. spokeswoman. Just shouting racial epithets during the commission of a crime doesn't rise to the level of ethnic intimidation, she said.

By their own liberal-progressive logic a hate crime is a premeditated act to inflict violence based on race/sex/sex pref. Not just the use of hate words while committing a crime. THEREFOR the Oakland crime was not a 'hate crime' because the objective was to rob and the slurs were just added in the heat of the moment.

Gotta love the progressives legal mind, hate-crimes are issued unless the victims are straight white men.

i dont have a problem with occupy.. i dont think they are the most intelligent folks going about things the best way... but what i WILL say is that they, unlike most americans are putting their asses out there and using their right to assemble and speak freely.. as is their right..

what i dont agree with is the heavy handed response to these folks. Granted, some are causing problems.. but in the "land of the free, home of the brave" i see not freedom, and even less bravery by cops who beat unarmed citizens..
