No wonder America doesn't stand a chance in the future. Quoting: John Donson 7813130 Now we have a writing teacher in Florida that can't spell! It's like a math teacher that can't figure out percentages. Sleepy Hill Middle School 8th grader Thomas Cancellare missed his FCAT Writes test last week because he was home sick. "I felt horrible," Cancellare said. "I could barely get out of the chair without throwing up." He had a doctor's note to prove he wasn't faking, but when he came back to school this week, his teacher put a sign around his neck. Cancellare said he was humiliated. "It said ... 'I decided to come to school today, but I didn't come to school during the FCAT,'" he said. Cancellare claims the teacher did nothing as classmates laughed at him. "She just made me feel like I'm worthless." [link to www.baynews9.com] Well when an employee at your local Walmart earns more what do you expect? America hasn't invested in it's education system in 50 years. Well not entirely true, armed guards and security scanners could be defined as investment in infrastructure. |

It bonds us eternally, it's what makes our computers work, it's what's in my morning cup of coffee, it's the thing that keeps the universe from vanishing due to lack of belief... |

Pretty sure, you don't know what you are talking about. However, we definitely don't need to throw any more money at these people. |

Teaching is the lowest paid profession in our nation, why would our best and our brightest become teachers when we pay starvation wages dedication can only go so far. If we want to build a great nation we need to educate our youth and we need the best teachers available to do that. I have a friend that went back to school to get his teaching certificate his professor told the students during the first day of class while going over the synopsis "This is what I have to teach you, then I will teach you what works". He was referring to "No Child Left Behind". If they had planned to dumb down American they could not have done a better job. It makes you really wonder if that was not the whole idea. |

I can't argue that! This makes me wonder how teachers can pass the certification test in the first place. Like the FCAT in Florida, there is probably a class they take based entirely on passing that test. [link to www.youtube.com] |

Close to fifty grand is the national average. How much are we going to pay public servants that get Christmas and spring break off along with summer? |
