Re: Mag. 6.9 Earthquake - OFF EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN
Looking at EQ maps yesterday the whole western pacific rim was very quiet. Now this overnight, off Honshu, while I slept.

Still looks unsettled, with Hokkaido region experiencing two 4+ quakes in the past hour or so...

I have had a feeling about the 10.0km depth of quakes for some time, I can't quite put my finger on it, and am no expert, would like to hear from experts on this, but why does this 10.0km hold significance for me? Why does it jump out, and why do I see it as a recurring pattern? I notice it a lot in quake data. Most recent Honshu rumbles are all within 10.0km to surface, same with the Hokkaido ones.
