I have recently been doing the same procedure but instead of using an oil I am using some baking soda and hydrogen peroxide mix.

I first brush my teeth with it and then do the 'pull' for ten minutes.

It seems to work out real well.

I have done 'oil pulling' for quite some time, but this seems to work out well also.

And both the baking soda and peroxide also kill any bad microbes in one's mouth

I've taken coconut oil daily for weeks, and it's not poisonous. I don't understand why you wouldn't swallow something like coconut oil...

Sorry if I'm thick, but I don't get it yet.

I've heard some great things about oil pulling so I decided to try it. Did it religiously for about four months and finally just quit because I couldn't see any benefits... guess I'm just too damn healthy, I don't know...

Definitely worth trying, tho, just use a good-tasting or neutral oil or you'll hate it. I used mostly organic virgin coconut oil, and eventually switched to sunflower oil for the last month or two. It has a neutral flavor, and it's a lot cheaper than the coconut.

I usually dont have 20 minutes to "swish" oil in the morning. Does it make a difference in the time of day?

I found that the best after oil rinse for me is salt water (Sea salt) Sometimes I'll just do the pulling with the salt water alone.

"I had full blown rheumetoid arthritis and my immune system was out of whack. There is an EASY and CHEAP cure and I call it "the alkaline cure". It took me a month to fix everything that was wrong with my immune system and I took ZERO drugs!

Curious, my wife was telling me about this last week. She has been doing it with pepermint oil. We both use a couple drops for a toothpaste substitute. I'll have to give it a try.

I'd read about this before when I had a tooth abscess. Everything I read was related to abscesses so I had no idea of the other benefits.

Coconut oil has so many uses besides just oil pulling. Truly amazing stuff. I buy a half gallon every six months or so. Fabulous on popcorn or hot bread with sea salt. Read the testimonials on the Amazon site for all the uses. I love it.

Thanks OP. I agree that coconut oil is the best because of its amazing properties. But I also think it is good to switch up and try different oils from time to time as each has different benefits. Word of caution though, never use olive oil for oil pulling. It will turn your teeth green or so I have heard!

Also, if you have a lot of allergies, colds and/or mucus, I find that sunflower oil works better at pulling mucus out than coconut oil. No idea why, but it does for me. It just yanks mucus into my throat from my nasal passages and I spit it out. Sometimes I will re-pull several times to get it all out if I am sick. Gross, but it is awesome that it works.

Hi I bought a bottle of cold pressed sunflower oil for this. I go to the gym. I understand that pulling pulls out harmful metal deposits but will it pull out the good ones. With oil pulling will I be having to supplement with say iron and things more than if I wasnt pulling?

I just gargled Valvoline 10W30 and I feel great!
