About sneakers?
I had really old cheap comfy sneakers (Target specials for $20)...about 8 yrs old and they were getting a bit tatty...so I thought...get some new ones and spend a bit of money this time!

The Oasis ($220+) felt great for the first 10 minutes...cushiony heels...but now it feels like the muscles in my heel feel pulled/stretched/sore whenever I walk in them. I normally walk around barefoot around the house but want to start "walking" for an hour each day...so need something that will allow me to exersize without fucking up my feet.

I'm concerned about whether to continue with these....or to get new ones that dont have the cushioning. Does everyone have problem with "good" shoes...adjusting from bad...or are they actually bad shoes. Just finishd reading How I got my Wiggle back by one of the Wiggles...and his Chiropractor says dont use cushioned shoes and walk barefoot all the time to get the arch of the foot working properly. I'm confused....

I'm far from a shoe expert, but, I'd say it depends on your arch. I have a very high arch so for walking, jogging, exercising ~ I stick with basic Nikes. I don't do well with flats. I don't know the brand you mentioned ~ they sound pretty pricey for sneakers though. I think the most I have paid for mine is around $80.

Re: About sneakers?
I have fairly flat feet...and its Australia....shoes can be pricey if made overseas...like Nike. I actually wanted Nike and Oasis but the sales person said Nike were more for show than useful exersize shoes. They had some at the store for around the same price....so it wouldnt have made any difference I wouldnt have thought...enough for her to lie anyway.

Oh! I see... Sorry! I forgot how much more expensive things are in Australia :( I'm sure having flat feet makes the difference. I always heard though that good arch support is important! Maybe give your feet some more time to adjust? I hope they work out for you ~ that's a bit of $$ to spend on shoes you're not satisfied with!

Nike has a wide range of shoes. Some sneakers are just for casual use. They look nice, are very comfortable, but not made for exercise. But they also have a bunch of shoes which are specialized for certain sports and those are very good.

Other brands like Reebok, Adidas, Asics have very good shoes too.

Also, you need to watch where you are buying shoes because Footlocker for example only has casual shoes. If you go to a real sports store they have the other types as well.

Yes...well chiropractors/foot specialists/doctors could be on GLP...or professional athletes/runners...its a broad community. Every problem each individual has....we are not alone and many have already deal with it before and found the answer. Why wouldnt I ask?
