ANKARA - Turkish Kurd militants threatened on Thursday to turn all Kurdish populated areas into a "war zone" if Turkish troops entered Syria, a sign the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) which has allies in Syria may be taking sides in the conflict there.

A renewed alliance between Damascus and the PKK would anger Turkey and could prompt it to take an even stronger line against Syrian President Bashar Assad over his brutal repression of anti-government protesters.

PKK field commander Murat Karayilan said Turkey was preparing the ground for an intervention in Syria.

Nah Turkey would not do that without Iranian approval. Syrian has mutual military alliance with Iran and as such any country invading Syria and at the request of Syrian government will have to face Iran and I guarantee you 100% Turkey dose not want to anger Iran or get into a conflict with a middle eastern super-power.

Say hello to the new (or not so new) nation of Kurdistan - carved out of Turkey, Iraq, Syria, and Iran. Just a matter of time. The march of freedom cannot be halted.

BAGHDAD: The leader of Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region delivered a sharp denunciation of the central government on Tuesday that included a veiled threat to reconsider relations with Baghdad.

The comments could be seen as a veiled code for seeking independence, since most Kurds say they would vote to secede from Iraq if given a chance.

The reality is a little bit different. It's coming down to an open 'every man for himself' fracturing on the international stage as new nations are born, old one's freed, existing one's disintegrate and split up, and so on. They are all rats on a sinking ship.
