I came up w 700ish, dont forget pine gap closer to Tennant Creek than the Alice. But hey we can all agree it aint nuthin to do w the Gap.

I used the coordinates where Google Earth indicates the Pine Gap facility to be - you can see the Echealon radar balls when you zoom in (someones even made 'em 3D!) - and used the ruler to the EQ epicentre.

So from here ...
Pine Gap NT:
23°47'48.41" S 133°44'17.07" E

to here ....
Tonight's EQ in SA:
26°03'48.77" S 132°07'24.74" E

300kms.

No doubt there are more facilities tied to Pine Gap around the country ... do you have coordinates for a facility at Tennant Creek?? I would be VERY interested in checking it out.

Agreed this has nothing to do with Pine Gap unless they've conducted some sorta test in the area ... which would not surprise me either, mind you.

Okay ... unsurprisingly, there's a bunch of oil, coal, and gas which theyve been mining over an extensive area of Central Oz for many decades. However, some recent new exploration/mining operations have begun a good 300km, at the very least, each way SW and SE of Alice. Dunno if it is significant in this instance. Notably, the "world's biggest coal field" (see article below) indeed stretches a good 400 kms - which direction it runs? I've no fracking idea.

Other than that, there's open cut opal mining at Mintabie, about 180km SE of the EQ. The Uranium Mines are many hundreds of kilometres away at Olympic Dam and Beverley in the Gammon Ranges.

It won't be the end of the world literally... but there will cataclysmic events that WILL CHANGE THE WORLD that to some, it will be perceived like its the end of the world as they've known it to be.

Think of it like more of a transformation hitting the RESET button or a CLEAN UP

I posted a couple of weeks ago about a crazy intense earthquake dream that I had. It troubled me for days afterwards.

I am thinking that this quake was not THE one in my dream but that maybe (let's hope not!) this quake is a precursor to something bigger coming.

Did anyone see the 2 earthquakes off the coast of Syndey?? They were 2.5 and 2.6 ... now THAT is UNUSUAL!

My wife keeps having tsunami dreams off and on lately so I don't know if it's just doom fear or if there is something to it.

I describe it in detail. And yes, I live in Oz in the greater Newcastle area. I don't know if that means that my dream was for an earthquake affecting Australia or not. Who knows.

I just figured I would share it. I was so worked up about it that posting it to GLP kinda helped calm me a bit. I don't want to have a dream like that again. It was so freakin' scary and the rumbling and shaking was so violent and loud. :-(

Yep, just saw that on my "Earthquake" app on my iPhone. I highly recommend this app for anyone. Ironically, I had just installed this app days before the great Japan earthquake tsunami.

The Japan event happened on my wife's birthday. We had just pulled up to go out on a 3 hour cruise ship for dinner. It notified me and I looked at my wife and said "Tsunami!".

Get the actual app called "earthquake" as it's much better than the other ones. You can set sensitivity of quakes to alert you and you can even set times for it to be silent.

I've got mine set to 6.0 on alerts as if one occurs I can hit the NOAA link and see if they've issued a tsunami alert. :-)
